There is no team in the game that does it better than Gary, Keith and Ron, particularly Gary. He is clearly a fan, but he calls it like a pro. None of this homer crap - nothing bugs me more than a play-by-play guy who sits there on-air going, "c'mon ball, get outta here!" Close second are the guys who get up and get loud when the home team draws so much as a walk, but then describe a homer by the visitors like they're reading stock prices. With Gary, you hear the excitement, and his voice tells you who he's rooting for, but you also get an exciting call when the other side hits one in the gap.

Everything about Gary above pretty much applies to Howie Rose.

As for Wayne Hagen, sorry buddy, could you save the poetry for after the play is dead? I'm getting tired of hearing him yammer on for 15 seconds about "little drops of water" and "the New York night "and yada yada and still not knowing whether an out has been recorded.

Howie Rose is awesome, my parents always say he's like an old school play by play guy. I like McCarthy much more than Hagin but Hagin is getting better. As for FOX, Joe Buck may be the worst announcer ever and all I can say is it's a good thing his Daddy was involved in the bigs cause he shouldn't even have a job. Joe Buck sounded like he was sleeping when Endy Chavez made 'The Catch' and would get excited every time Albert Pujols even touched the ball in the series, or any Cardinal. I hate Joe Buck

maybe fox finally realized that nobody likes the the folks the get to do national broadcasts. with football season underway, maybe they decided to try something new.

i've thought for sometime that it woulkd be a good idea to pair a play-by-play guy from one team with a color-commentator from the other.

i hate watching nationally televised games where the broadcasters know next to nothing about a team i've see 12-15 times in a season by Aug/Sept, let alone a team I've seen play 130-140 times.

I LOVE Howie Rose! He is funny, concise, and informative. I really hope he doesn't leave us.
But, as a fellow Bayside boy, I wish him all the best.
Howie rules.
