Pelf wasn’t able to spot his sinker from the first inning. He was working up in the zone and getting hit hard all game. I don’t think Dukes affected his game at all. It certainly didn’t scare him off pitching inside to Dukes in his next AB.

It’s really the fault of Bowden, who is a horrible GM. He loves to pick up talented players who are also bad actors. No one could manage some of these guys. I think that Milledge is nowhere near the lunatic that Dukes is, but he definitely walks his own way and I doubt that he listens very well.

Bad choice of words by Pelf. I doubt that he was unable to get himself “up” for the game. He probably was talking about mentally fatigued — he’s never thrown this many innings.

I am slightly worried about Pelfrey’s, since he’s never pitched this many innings. Not only are we counting on him, Maine did and Pedro being a ?, for us to make the post-season, but we’re going to need him big time, next year if we can’t bring back Ollie and/or bring in another quality starter to be the pitcher he was for most of the season.

You are right, AH did learn his moves from Reyes. What he didn’t learn is that those moves may not be appropriate when you are 127 games out of first place.

I wasn’t saying that the Mets were annoyed; I would imagine that they couldn’t care less. I just found it amusing. It doesn’t seem like Acta has a very good handle on his merry band of thugs.

OK guys someone help me feel better. I just projected the rotation until the last game and I have Pedro going. Please tell me I am wrong because I see Glavine II.

Also, I see 7 more starts by Pedro and an unknown including 2 of the last 3 games. That scares the hell out of me.

It bugs me too. I’d rather hear that physically he just didn’t have it than mentally he couldn’t get up for this game..especially in September.

His focus has to remain the same even if it’s the Nats and knowing the Phillies lost.

how can the Mets complain about that? AH learned how to celebrate in 2006 from Jose Reyes?

The thing that apalls me in AH’s batting average? You would think the guys can actually hit, why didnt he do that as a Met?

btw, the HP ump not calling time for AH on that quick pitch by Ayala is a direct result of Milledge and Dukes being a-holes to the ump the entire game. Costs the whole team when they pull antics like that.

That’s a good point. If they had skipped him last night then he would get two extra days and santana would get one extra day and both would likely be a little fresher for the last two weeks. I think if they had any confidence in Pedro they probably would have done that.
