Is that the one Chase Utley would wear?

Matthew Cerrone September 12, 2008 at 11:50 am

Yes, the exact one I am sure.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 11:51 am

i think those shirts will end up being worn by the locals in guatemala – like the undefeated pat’s of 07 lol

rM teM September 12, 2008 at 12:27 pm

Maybe we should buy them and wear
them during the playoffs.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:34 pm

that would be a jinx lol – no phili mojo thankyou

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 11:55 am

maybe mr. met will use it as toilet paper?? i can see it now we can do a takeoff on the old frank zappa “zappa crappa” poster

mdemaio September 12, 2008 at 11:55 am

The baseball version of “19-0″

kowalski69 September 12, 2008 at 12:37 pm

yep i was gonna write that. These’ll end up in Africa with the other 19-0 shirts.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:38 pm

the hoodia pymie tribes will be wearing em :P

TurkWendell9999 September 12, 2008 at 11:57 am

Now all they need to do is hire Rickey Henderson as a first base coach and sign Mota and they will fall into oblivion.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:01 pm

i think the fall is just begining

TugTheMan September 12, 2008 at 11:58 am

big shea September 12, 2008 at 12:04 pm

Damn, those shirts are hideous. Aren’t Philly chicks ugly enough already?

Nightlife September 12, 2008 at 12:05 pm

lol

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:06 pm

most are ugly – kinda like sloth meets roseanne barr but the hotties think Yo Yo Ma is a kids toy

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:06 pm

*meaning they ain’t too bright

phillygalfan September 12, 2008 at 5:04 pm

well thank goodness they don’t post pictures along with your screen names! If that were the case, there would be an overwhelming incidence of blindness from the sheer horror!! Ease up on the insults and keep it to baseball my friend.!!

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 5:34 pm

never said i was a looker sweetie but iv’e been to the electric factory and the philly gals ive seen aint nuthin to write home about

MadMike5 September 12, 2008 at 12:12 pm

I hope hundreds of Phillies fans by the shirt so then they have something to wipe their A$$ with. I love how they are tired of chasing us too. It’s awesome.

BIG17EASY September 12, 2008 at 12:13 pm

What’s a jink?

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:30 pm

i have an answer but it would be deleted by the filters lol

gipper82475 September 12, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Matt,

Jinx, not jink.

Jink, I believe, is Jar Jar Binks’ cousin. And, Jair Jurrjens’ brother.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:31 pm

was’nt he a character on the mod squad?? antonio fargas played him :P

JarvisJanesAddiction September 12, 2008 at 12:43 pm

No….that was “Linc”…..played by Clarence Williams III. Antonio Fargas played “Huggy Bear” on Starsky and Hutch. Women from Philly “bear” a striking resemblance to Antonio Fargas!! :)

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:45 pm

once again jarvis – you forgot your sarcasm alert meter :P

JarvisJanesAddiction September 12, 2008 at 12:59 pm

My bad, rustyjr! :)

BlueCapsOnly September 12, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Just an FYI for all the people who watch the Mets on mlb.tv. I got an email today that said starting tonight both home and away feeds would be available starting tonight.

obviously that doesn’t matter for this series, but it will be nice for the remaining away games.

BlueCapsOnly September 12, 2008 at 12:20 pm

looks like i need to say “starting tonight” a few more times.

mrose September 12, 2008 at 1:37 pm

so, starting tonight ? or …starting tonight?

moodswingr September 12, 2008 at 12:26 pm

Rather odd that this place has stores only in the pacific northwest..I understand trying to be ahead of the curve, but this is just ridiculous…

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:33 pm

big hawaiian community in the northwest – prob all shane vic fans – either that or the think ryan howard is the pig for the luau

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:35 pm

learned about the polynisian communitiy living in the pac n.w from the food network – guy feiri – god among men!!

mookie September 12, 2008 at 12:35 pm

Off Topic; How did the rivalry between us and the phils begin? Just curious.

kowalski69 September 12, 2008 at 12:39 pm

um. last year?

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:41 pm

kowalski we did battle em for last place many a year lol

Nate W. September 12, 2008 at 1:22 pm

when the Philly fans cheered when Reyes got hurt… I think thats when it became something more.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:36 pm

j-roll said they were the team to beat

Flushing_is_Burning September 12, 2008 at 12:42 pm

wow the cahones on the marketing people!

NYsMaineMan September 12, 2008 at 12:46 pm

They Made a Mets’ t-shirt last year; and then our collapse began. It truly was a jinx!

Nutz15 September 12, 2008 at 1:48 pm

They made one this year, too. It’s nothing new…

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:47 pm

hey guy’s hows about this for for the 08 theme song – shoot em down by twisted sister or the boys are back in town by thin lizzy (not the busboys)

CaseStreet September 12, 2008 at 12:52 pm

I prefer “Get out the way” by Ludacris.

Nate W. September 12, 2008 at 1:25 pm

you said ‘08 right? not ‘88 or ‘78…

like Keith Hernandez says… try to be contemporary.

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 5:35 pm

hey im contemporary i like porcipine tree wolfmother etc

djbutler September 12, 2008 at 1:15 pm

as thrill5one6 said the Mets are jinxed to. Go to Google and type in “mets 2008 division champion shirt”, then scroll down to shopping results. And let the dread roll over you.

thrill5one6 September 12, 2008 at 1:24 pm

thanks!

Gary Busey September 12, 2008 at 1:50 pm

1. Why are they both women’s shirts?
2. Once again, I feel there is a relevant Dugout: mlb.fanhouse.com/2007/10/17/the-dugout-schwag-chat/

JINBK September 12, 2008 at 1:52 pm

I guess the Marlins are about to come roaring back and win the division, since the Mets and Phillies have both been irreparably jinxed by these t shirts and stand no chance

JetsnMets September 12, 2008 at 2:04 pm

I work in this industry (licensed sports apparel) and while it seems strange to us as fans, it is not uncommon at all for us to order ‘hot market’ (i.e. playoffs & championship hats or tees) products many weeks or months in advance.

Often we will order what we would like depending on specific team ‘if win’ scenarions. In 2006, we had Mets NLCS gear in our systems as early as mid September, but also for the Cardinals and Dodgers.

I guess what I am getting at is that it’s not really a jinx, because these things are designed and ordered for all teams well in advance of the playoff field being set.

Peter September 12, 2008 at 2:17 pm

Dreaded Magic Number is back . . . .

Is still think it’s bad karma unless it’s a runaway to post a magic number.

TugTheMan September 12, 2008 at 12:01 pm

wasn’t really expecting anything at all. but one would imagine that someone with an once of smarts take it down before it gets out of hand!!!

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:02 pm

he he he i think they will hedge theyre bets and put a mets one up too

rustyjr September 12, 2008 at 12:42 pm

and remember they are from the land of scrapple
