No, EV, I'm not saying I'm okay with the loss and it didn't bother me at all. Quite the contrary. But, EV, what I'm saying is that when this team wins a game I'm not going to start setting the World Season roster and when they lose a game I'm not going to say the season is over.

They should have won that game, period. Ayala shouldn't have pitched Friday night and they should have picked up a few more runs when they had their loads of chances. But I'm not going to start ranting after every loss about the Payroll and Omar's failings. The same as I'm not going to annoint Omar after every win. I personally don't think it's time for that but hey however you want to root is your deal. For me I'm going to focus on the games right now. The bottom line is that they can win this thing, so I'm going to hope to hell they can.

Confidence in the Mets Organization?

Confidence in Jerry "Gangsta" Manuel?

By the way, time to show the Phanatic in total clarity, he ain't blurry anymore.

backing into the playoffs just because the Brewers suck is no solace. I give you the 2007 Phillies, backing into the playoffs because the Mets sucked...3 game sweep.

Anyone who thinks the Mets don't need K-Rod next year is nuts. Omar already screwed up at the 07 trading deadlie by not gettting Lidge. Wait Omar screwed up by trading away Heath Bell and Matt Lidstrom for garbage. Wait Omar screwed up by signing Schoenweiss and letting Bradford go. Wait Omar screwed up by not trading for Dan Wheeler at the 07 deadline.

I think a big difference between the Mets and the Phillies is that the Phillies succeed better off the Mets failures. They get more pumped. They're used to looking up at the Mets. Whether it be in 06, 07 or 08. They were up in a decent amount 08, but the Mets and Marlins were right there. Even in the Mets-Phillies one-on-one games. The Mets get on top like 80% of the time and the Phillies have to work there way back and somehow find ways a lot.

In 2006, the NL East sucked. The NL was less competitive period. The NL and NL East have caught up to the Mets in the same way how the Pistons and Heat caught up to the Nets after they made it to the NBA Finals twice. We need to win. They hold much better banners for those who win divisions over those who win wild cards.

I don't think people in Miami particularly care if their Marlins won the division in 97' or 03' though, do you? There's always two sides to everything. It still isn't a bad consolation, but it's in no way satisfying. There would only be two ways to recover the bad taste of not winning the division. One, win the world series. Or two, beat the Phillies in the NLCS to make it to the world series. I do believe this team will win the division though because they've bounced back so many times. Plus, just look from this point - they got a better record.

Don't worry, I understand. I live in Burlington county, New Jersey. The heartland of the Phillies and Eagles lol I know Phillies ''phans'' are human-beings lol I work and live with them. If you're a Phillies fan living in the NY area you probably feel as out of place as I do. There's a few sour apples in every basket. Usually people who go out of there way to come onto a blog with intensity are not as sensible as yourself... I'm sure Mets fans who have made their way onto Phillies blogs aren't the best representations of us either. I just hope these Phillies fans can keep the intensity that they do for the Eagles... Maybe if they lose tomorrow they will.
