well, if maine only have to pitch one inning, he can throw much harder because he won’t have to conserve energy. i see him (if healthy) hitting 95-96 with his fastball. that’s closer stuff.

The Brewers started the ninth inning with a double,single and another double in order and only scored one run. That falls under failing to tack on as far as I know

The gift was really from Mark DeRosa who kicked away a DP grounder that would have ended the inning with no runs scored.

Just a little observation. You should probably get rid of the Cardinals altogether from the Wild Card standings, or at least insert the Marlins in front of them since they’re only five losses back while the Cards are six……

I think what he meant was they failed big-time with runners on base, especially second and third with no outs in the 12th. With Counsell and Kendall coming up, new manager Dale Sveum totally blew it by not having one of them squeeze, especially Counsell who is a great bunter.
