by Matthew Cerrone on September 21st, 2008 at 9:54 am

Health: Maine throws Sim-Inning, Getting Closer

by Matthew Cerrone on September 21st, 2008 at 9:47 am

John Maine threw 24 pitches to five batters in a simulated inning prior to yesterday’s game, during which he hit just 87 mph with his fastball.

Assuming he feels well today, Maine will likely throw a second simulated inning tomorrow at Shea Stadium – after which the team will determine if he should be activated, and be able to contribute to the team’s bullpen.
