Carlos Beltran is officially The Man. If you don’t want him in center field for this team, then I don’t know who will make you happy out there. That’s your problem, not mine, not the Mets, and certainly not Carlos’.

Him just coming out to bat was uplifting, the hit even more so.

Its a shame the pen couldnt hold the game where it was because Marquis was really trying to start a rally every inning and the game would have been there for the taking.

I guess 6 IP and 3 runs from the pen is about as good as it could be though. 4.50 ERA is better than they have been doing.

And then there is Scneider and Castillo (both of whom shouldnt have been in the game to begin with) grounding into double plays all night.

No wonder the Mets have no come from behind wins over more than three runs. They can never catch what the pen is giving up.

I dont know, I’ve met Carlos’s uncle and even he questioned him being a right fit for the Mets.

If even his family has doubts in him, why couldnt we?

I was in the mezzanine so I couldn’t really see what was hurting him. It was terrifying. Seeing him get up and also take another at bat was uplifting, even in a loss.

What a great moment last night, when Easley was walking toward the batter’s box, then we looked up again and he was gone, and then Beltran emerged from the dugout. Lots of cheers. And then he singles. It was great.

It’s a damn shame Church ruined the moment a few pitches later.
