Mixing apples and oranges. Maine has a bone spur, the 'scrubs' in the BP, whether good or not, have no injury.

I thought Maine's injury was one that really wouldn't worsen if he played? I thought that a bone spur would only cause him discomfort but not get any worse?

He can't "in good conscience" use Maine, but he CAN bring out every other scrub in the bullpen? I'm starting to think the Mets really don't want to make the playoffs.

I am sure a lot of people think the idea of Bobby coming back is absurd, but it might make perfect sense. Can you imagine opening day at the newly minted CitiField, new players on the team while old retreads are gone, and suddenly when they call out the lineup on the field, Bobby V walks out to a huge standing ovation, the fans welcoming home the last Mets World Series manager,…back with a team arguably better than the 2000 version top to bottom.

I seriously can't believe we are living through this again....Another choke job..

Jerry is not as smart as he comes off. Yea he's a word smith but he was totally unprepared emotionally and mentally for this stretch run.. If this continues and we fall out of the playoff the NEXT manager that comes here needs to prepare these guys from day 1.. I would remind them of the collapse every single day. Put up posters in the clubhouse. They have to learn to fight through the pressure. Enough of this sh!t.. Get Bobby V back and tell him to do what he has to do.

I don't know about the arm but it is possible he could injure something else trying to compensate for the pain.

I don't know about him plain suking, but I do agree he's been making a lot of the same decisions Willie would have made lately. Specifically going with experience even if it's not performing.

What in gods name is going on with the franchise? Its one thing after another with these boobs.... If he can't F up his arm any more than it already is he should pitch. Clearly the Mets organization and doctors think this. So whats the problem Jerry...

I don't think he would have gotten lit up out of the bullpen. If nothing else he couldn't have been worst than the guys we've been using.
