postGame: Mets 7 Cubs 6
By Brandon Eddy - Sep 25, 2008 10:59 pm

My heart, hairline and sanity can’t take much more of this but somehow Carlos Beltran’s line drive in the bottom of the ninth went threw Micah Hoffpauir’s glove and the Mets came back to defeat the Cubs 7-6 at a very soggy Shea Stadium tonight.

For a recap, boxscore and stats from tonight’s game, click here.

I am pretty dizzy right now so I don’t know where I am going to go with this recap, but away we go.

We definitely saw a sharper Pedro Martinez tonight even though Cubs’ manager Lou Pinella sent out his Triple-A team. Pedro struck out a season high nine batters and was given an appropriate standing ovation when lifted in the 7th inning. However the love fest only lasted one pitch as Ricardo Ricon gave up a three-run home run to Hoffpauir, giving the Cubs a 6-3 lead.

Down by two in the bottom of the 8th and season about to be slammed shut, two unlikely heroes kicked the door back open with the likes of Ramon Martinez and Robinson Cancel. Martinez and Cancel both knocked RBI-singles to tie the game at six. The tying-run was one of the more crazy plays you will see at the plate when Ryan Church danced his way around Koyie Hill and finally touched home. Did I mention that was crazy?!?!

Joe Smith pitched a gutsy 9th inning. With two on and two out, he got Darryl Ward to ground out to set up the stage for another amazing comeback.

With three games left, the Mets are now one game behind the Phillies for the division crown and currently the Brewers and Pirates are tied at one in extra innings.

Kudos to all of the Mets fans braving the elements tonight. I wish I was there with you!

The Mets begin their final home stand at Shea Stadium tomorrow night, weather permitting, against the Florida Marlins.

Wow, I need a drink.

update11:15

Ryan Braun just won the game for the Brew Crew with a walk-off grand slam.  The Mets and Brewers remained tied for the Wild Card with three games left in the season.

How about that Church “slide.” Holy sh!t that was a crazy game.

  2. Nightlife says:

    Eddy, my man!

  3. Dirtysanchez says:

what a game…right kudos to the REAL fans that stayed there no matter what. The mets if anything showed great heart coming back after several shots in that game. Great win..lets go mets. Now the mets have the best opportunity to truly put last September behind them as they will have essentially the same situation as last year against the marlins…

    • Ceetar says:

The biggest difference though, is Santana Versus Glavine on Sunday.

      • Ceetar says:

Well, Maybe. Do you still pitch Santana if the Mets are 1 up in the East?

        • metsmad22 says:

no you do not…..b/c if we tie for the east, we still in the division, as long as the Crew has a worse record than both us nd Philly.

        • mets227 says:

Right. The only way Santana doesn’t pitch is if the Mets win the next two, and both the Phils and Crew lose the next 2.

        • ridethesnake says:

Johan can pitch Game 5 in the NLDS if he pitches Game 1 or Game 2. He’d get the extra day rest if he pitches Game 1, but he would also be coming off 7 days rest if he doesnt pitch Sunday.

So, even if he pitches Sunday, he would be able to start Game 2 on 3 days rest and Game 5 on full rest, as opposed to 7 days rest and then 5 days rest. I supposed he can use that rest, but if we are only one game up I still pitch him and go with Pelf Game 1 on normal rest (unless rainout tonight) and then Johan Game 2 and 5.

        • ridethesnake says:

Ah, I re-read the above — if we are one up in the East and two up on the Brewers — yes, Matt Cerrone pitches Sunday’s game. Other than that Johan pitches to end the season and we worry about the Dodgers, Brewers or Cubs later.

  4. metsfanmurph says:

The crowd did a tremendous job.

  5. metsmad22 says:

btw, Joe Smith deserves the game ball…..what a great performance.

    • DeBergkamp says:

Agreed. Nemo Smith actually had to get a lefty out (unbelievable). I’d like to see him throw his two seamer to lefties, but apparently his chances will be few and far between in the future. What a win for the team when they could have easily resigned their fate to the stars.

  6. Dirtysanchez says:

oh and HUGE kudos to Manuel for sticking with martinez and cancel….

    • ridethesnake says:

Manuel had the best game of his season, IMO. Even the way he handled Murphy was good, I think it was Aguayo’s fault for not calling him over to talk.

I don’t fault him for bringing in Rincon, can’t second guess there… he just pushed all the right buttons tonight otherwise.

      • Boscov says:

Yes indeed, Manuel’s slide into home was epic, as was his game winning hit in the 9th.

I don’t get it, how are you saying Manuel had his best game of the season? It’s like criticizing all his moves after a loss. Hnidsight judgments, get it together snake.

  7. racemccloud says:

We should have won last night, but we should have lost tonight. I swear, nothing goes as it should with this team. When you run out Ramon Martinez and Robinson Cancel in your starting line-up out of necessity, you shouldn’t win. But there you go. I’ll admit, last night almost pushed me over the edge, but I got a grip and exhaled before tonight’s game, and I’m glad I did. Also, if this team makes it through as either the Division Winner or the Wild Card… man, the post-season will seem pressure free after this regular season. So, until they kill me, Let’s go Mets.

    • amazinmets333 says:

i totally agree if mets make the playoffs they have no pressure to win it all or make the ws… i just want to see some playoff baseball, i think if we make it we can get past the first rd if not i won’ be mad…i just want them to make the playoffs

      • ridethesnake says:

like the Cards in 2006, we can exhale once we make it.

I too almost turned off the TV to watch The Office after Delgado’s DP… but stuck around to watch thankfully.

  8. Paperboy says:

Posted today at The Onion, eerily prescient:

“Struggling Mets Combine To Form Carlos VOLTRON”

  9. nobeers says:

    From Beerleaguer

“That Cubs lineup is really just more bad luck for the Mets. Pedro has plenty of experience facing Derek Lee & Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano. But he has no book at all on Hoffpauir and McGehee and Fontenot and Hill, so it’s almost inconceivable that he could get any of them out. Besides, do you really think the Cubs’ regulars were going to be trying their hardest if they had played today? For the newcomers, this is their chance at the show. They couldn’t possibly be more motivated.

The Mets are just the unluckiest team in the history of baseball. They are just so damn unlucky that I actually feel badly for them. If the Phillies do wind up winning the east, it’s almost like it shouldn’t count because they’re so clearly the inferior team.”

    • nobeers says:

thats my response to the triple-a lineup the cubs put on the field tonight because i completely agree with whoever said that.

      • hyperion4 says:

Yeah, I hate to think what might have happened if the Cubs had started Derrek Lee instead of Micah Hoffpauir. I’m sure Lee would have gone 10-for-10 with 7 HRs. The Mets got real lucky there.

        • ridethesnake says:

You reversed the point he was making. He was saying the Mets were unlucky that young guys like Hoffpauir were starting because he will be motivated to show he can play, while Lee would be looking forward to getting back to the dry dugout. This was obviously a pre-game post and it turned out to be true (except we won).

  10. whynot1 says:

McLouth took a called third strike in the 10th with a runner on second that was waaaaaaay outside and the Brewer’s announcers didn’t even question it or show a replay (although they showed McLouth in shock).

  11. metsforever says:

Brewers win . Walk off Grand Slam

    • ehog says:

I actually feel that we are in control of our destiny now. Wow! Its time to believe. What a game! That was CLUTCH!!!!!

  12. amazinmets333 says:

hell yea i think we all need a drink i plan to do that 2 moro nite and if they play and win 2 moro nite i will be a happy drunk if it gets rained out i’m still drinking, but yea these mets of 08 have bounced back from tough losses all year and lets do this!! lets crush those marlins and make the playoffs and see what this team can do.

If we make the playoffs i am not expecting to make the world series it would be nice, but it would be a loss to one of the al teams, so my expectations won’t be high but you never know, if we make the playoffs and get past the first round and into the nlcs you never know!! lets go mets!!!

  13. Nightlife says:

Well, no help from the Pirates.

    Oh well.

  14. metsfanmurph says:

    The Pirates played like dogs

    • Nightlife says:

      “The Pirates played like dogs”

      Isn’t that a little redundant?

    • hyperion4 says:

The thing that bugged me is that Russell (Pirates’ manager) refused to use their best reliever, Matt Capps, at any point in the series. He was clinging to that stupid notion that you should never, ever, on pain of death, put your closer in unless you’re ahead and the other team is coming up for its last licks. Better to have a rookie groove a slider to Ryan Braun with the bases loaded than, heaven forbid, allow Capps to pitch in a tie game.

  15. metsforever says:

Please Cubs, try somewhat hard this weekend. Remember, you would be better off with the Mets than the Dodgers. Do it out of self interest

  16. amazinmets333 says:

f the brewers i ain’t scared, they play the cubs coming up and even though the cubs won’t put out there best there still goin to try and win and beat the brew crew, just 1 question is that series in milwaukee or chicago?

    • dave27 says:

Milwaukee, or as most people call it, North Chicago.

Nice work by the Brewers, but they barely got by the Pirates in extras 2 of 3 games.

  17. docgoodens8ball says:

Brewers don’t look like they’re going to lay down.

  18. dave27 says:

Pirates battled, but in the end they stink.

Cubs, even in tune-up mode, won’t be so easy.

I may be fantasizing with delirium, but I still think the Phillies are going home.

    • metsfanmurph says:

The only way we beat out the Phillies is if they lose 2 out of 3 against the worst team in baseball at home.

      • metsforever says:

And that is only if we sweep the Marlins, and you know how often that happens

      • amazinmets333 says:

or we can sweep and phillies take 2 of 3 and it ends up in a tie which we get division and both mets and phils have better records then brewers, i highly doubt phils lose 2 of 3 from marlins but it could happen if they do we just have to win 2 of 3 from marlins at least to tie for division, i say if mets win first 2 and its tied goin into sunday we have to throw santana out i’d rather have the division and play dodgers in 1st rd then the cubs.

        • amazinmets333 says:

i mean i doubt phils lose 2 of 3 to nationals my head is still spinning from the last couple days and i have a cold so i’m not thinking straight

        • MetsFan4Decades says:

OMG – for a minute there I thought we jumped back to end of Sep ‘07 – LOL

  19. metsfanmurph says:

The Brewers didn’t play well in this series at all, it’s just the Pirates didn’t show.

  20. Nightlife says:

So the Marlins and Nats game will not be made up at all. I know it is a completely meaningless game but when was the last time they just straight up out and out canceled a game in MLB?

  21. losmets7 says:

WOOOOOO!!!! EXCELENTE MUCHACHOS!!!!! That goddamn Ryan Braun had to dampen the mood. w/e. GO CUBS!!! GO NATIONALS!!! And most of all, GOOOOO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Flushing_is_Burning says:

Good for nothing Pirates!! 5-1 brewers on a Braun walk off grand-slam

  23. metsforever says:

This weekend looks like a pitching nightmare. No games likely in Phil or NY tomorrow and Saturday looks pretty bad too. What is the plan B? Two Sunday and a maybe on Monday, then possilble playoff on Tuesday and Wednesday? That might be worth it just to mess up TV and MLB.

But really, what do they do? The Mets staff isnt’ built for Doubleheaders

  24. metsfanmurph says:

If both games are cancelled it is a huge advantage for the Mets. First of all they haven’t had a day off in nearly a month. Secondly we don’t even have a starter for Saturday so it would move that back.

  25. EdysFanatic says:

Manuel pushed all the right buttons yet again tonite! JERRYBALL!

  26. The Slider says:

David Wright has got to pull it together. He look completely discombobulated at the plate when comes up with the game on the line. He’s swinging at pitches 9 inches off the plate and in the dirt and . . . Ugh

    • metsmad22 says:

david has never been able to hit a slider away……it is his kryptonite.

      • The Slider says:

Good point. But unless he wants to turn into Juan Samuel, he better figure that out.

        • metsmad22 says:

the problem is he is vulnerable outside b/c he pulls….if he went back to a shorter more level swing and hitting to the opposite field, he wouldn’t be vulnerable to the outside pitch.

        • Nightlife says:

          Oh man you inspired me to check out his baseball-reference page and got this gem on the sponsor’s banner;

“juan samuel was, quite simply, the greatest baseball player in the history of the world.”

Whoever spent the money on that you are my hero.

      • itsPhil says:

I recall David Wright hitting his first walk-off home run earlier this season off a slider low and outside.

    • wethreekings says:

Yet he gets another RBI. Pretty good for someone who’s discombobulated at the plate.

  27. techwonV27 says:

3 games left… It’s time to find out who the Real Gangsters are and who the ladies are on this team…

  28. amazinmets333 says:

RAMON MARTINEZ!!!! where did he come from finally getting his time to shine and coming through now the question is do you keep him in the starting lineup or is easley healthy enough to start?

  29. trippingac says:

Ultimately, I wanted the Brewers to lose tonight. But there is somewhat of a silver-lining in them winning. And that is – it is now far more possible for the Phillies to not make the playoffs, with the Mets winning the division and the Brewers taking the Card. Not much of a silver-lining perhaps, but I dunno – I would LOVE to see us in October and the Phillies at home watching.

  30. The Slider says:

I have tix for tomorrow night’s game. If it gets rained out, what’s the plan?

  31. shlee says:

I’m considering buying tickets from stubhub for Sunday’s game but what happens if there’s a rainout tomorrow and Saturday? DH on Sunday or Monday? I don’t want to shell out all the cash and then get screwed out of the last game because of the rain.

  32. zen says:

Scott Olsen: “Silence is golden. It’s not that good of a stadium. I remember Tom Glavine walking off the mound with his head down without getting three outs. Anything we can do to keep them from going on is our goal going in.”

  33. cver says:

Great win tonight and great live-blogging by our good luck charm Mr. Matthew Met Cerrone. We need him to retrace all of his exact steps for the duration!

  34. Furioso says:

    Lets not get too giddy.

Odds are HEAVILY against this happening for us.

    1) We have a Nolasco vs Garbage matchup on Sat
    2) We’re facing a DH as well, which is almost guaranteed split
    3) The Brews have momentum
    4) The Cubs won’t play all out against them either
    5) The Phils have the Nats.

We’re gonna be on the outside looking in.

    • metsmad22 says:

if we cant beat the Fish at home, we don’t deserve to go….so relax….

    • trippingac says:

      Furioso,

Shut up. You have to be nuts to talk like that after what we just saw tonight. If that sort of dramatics doesn’t make you believe, then I don’t know what will.

We’re winning this thing. And that’s all the f&*^k there is to it.

      LET’S GO METS

    • koosman says:

you really sound like a freaking d_ouchebag.

    • wethreekings says:

      Summary:
      “I hate happiness.”

    • bittergreen says:

Phils have had a tough time with the Nats this season, and the Nats have been playing some better ball since their 12 game losing streak in August/September.

With our last 6 games with the Nats in September, only the last one where we ran out Johan on to the mount was easy. The Nats haven’t been laying down.

    • ehog says:

God! You are such a tool! How can you be so negative after they pulled it together and proved to us they can be clutch and get the job done?
      !Besa mi chupas, you as#!!

Just got back from the game…fn amazing great atmosphere for those of us who stayed

    • metsluc says:

well put .. i stayed til the end, and i never experienced something like that… the crowd was unbelievable tonight….. its a foreshadowing of NEXT weekend at shea (hopefully without the rain)

  36. Tidewater says:

  37. metsmad22 says:

    just 3 more wins and we’ll be cool…..just WIN…..

  38. dykstraw says:

i’m back on the bandwagon, at least through tomorrow. wow!

  39. koosman says:

I’m confident they will rout this piece of sh&! team this weekend and win the division outright form the goddamned Phillies. Monday we will be getting ready for game 1.

  40. amazinmets333 says:

if i’m not mistaken cubs brewers is on espn 2 moro nite and if mets game is rained out i’ll be watching that game and rooting heavily for the cubs

    • X-Man says:

Thanks. It will be fun to watch a baseball game without worrying about having my heart ripped out. If the Brewers win I will be dissapointed but not devastaded like when the Mets lose. It will be refreshing and very entertaining. Go Cubs!! Go Micah Hoffpauer !!

  41. wallybackman'sfire says:

I really didn’t think the Mets had it in them to come back tonight and win after the previous nite’s devastating loss. And to win in the way they did? Wow.

Did anybody look at the team the Pirates put on the field vs. the Brewers? I know the Pirates are a thin team after trading Nady and Bay but man, it’s surprising they can even score with that line-up.

  42. backinbusiness says:

    Back from the game.

Before the game, my friend was late so I was milling around the outside merch tent and spotted a Pedro bobblehead on sale for $10.

I bought the bobble, so I take full credit for the win.

Pedro’s coming back with me on Saturday!

    LETS GO METS!

  45. backinbusiness says:

it will fun to cheer for micah hoffpauer this weekend.

  46. backinbusiness says:

I wonder if Cody Ross and Big Pelf will come to blows????

  47. X-Man says:

Finally, we found a solution the the 2nd base “black Hole” that has been plaguing this team since Easley went down. Neither Castillo nor A. Reyes should play one more game this year. Does anyone honestly think we win this game if Castillo or A. Reyes had played instead of Martinez?

  48. Don says:

a lot of fun. i was there w/ my bro. the daniel murphy move was mind-boggling. i say let the .333 hit, especially after two strikes. thank god beltran got him off the hook. another big win after a tough loss. this team may have no pen, but they have heart.

  49. hyperion4 says:

It was pretty apparent watching on TV that a sign was blown. Manuel had a cow when Murphy attempted to bunt with two strikes.

  50. gipper82475 says:

Wow. Just got back from a dinner here on the left coast to watch the last few innings on my DVR.

You have to give this group credit for a great bounceback win after that debilitating loss last night. Great comeback from that, and within the game.

It’s gonna be a wild weekend.

  51. racemccloud says:

Here are the reasons why it’s a good thing the Brewers won:

1.) Keeps the Mets feeling the pressure. This team plays best with its back against the wall. (Although sometimes, when the wall falls on top of them, that’s not so good.)

2.) Keeps the Phillies feeling the pressure. They had a great run a week or so back, but they’re a streaky team and they MAY have peaked too early.

3.) Keeps alive the possibility that both the Mets and the Brewers can make the playoffs, leaving the Phils out.

4.) Ryan Braun is on my fantasy team. Okay, that’s a little selfish on my part, but still… I could use the RBI.

    Let’s go Mets!

    • nyj0126 says:

What a different world this blog is tonight compared to yesterday or just hours ago lol I’m happy about that though.

I do agree that the Brewers help the Mets believe they have to win. Like they don’t have a choice. This win was big today. It is essential that a win had to come from Pelfrey and Johan in 2 out of these last 4. Of the other two, Pedro and say Brandon Knight – one of two was a necessity.

With the Brewers, winning 3 of 4 is too. They did their job tonight. Now they have to push to get 2 out of 3 this weekend. I think they’ll lose 2 out of 3 though. The Cubs have had the Brewers number in Milwaukee. This isn’t the Reds or the Pirates.

The Phillies not making it would be lovely, but what ever happens happens. There’s a legit possibility that all three of these teams will end up tied. And the Mets would get two chances are making it to the postseason. Ollie would be the guy Monday and either Pedro Martinez or Mike Pelfrey on three days rest – or anyone it’d take would be a guy on Tuesday if it were necessary.

  52. gipper82475 says:

PS: hey, columnists and Metsbloggers who get on Mets’ fans for being negatve and not supporting the team…I hope y’all were watching the loyal fans in near tropical storm conditions at Shea tonight.

    • Danny says:

We do have some negative and unsupportive fans. Too many, really. But there is that special subset that I’m proud of rooting for the same team as.

  53. thegeneralfamily says:

I always love em, but one night I hate that I love em and the next I’m thankful that I do – such is the life of a Mets diehard in 08. In any case, I’m just trying to imagine how a random baseball fan would feel about these boys though; I guess if you didn’t care at all about the teams and they didn’t wear NEW YORK across their chests (on the road) that they would have to rank as the most exciting teams to watch on a regular basis from a purely entertainment standpoint. Taking things a step further, might MLB pull strings in their favor if they were hypothetically rained out this weekend? (Or would Bud rather see his Brewers in?) Besides the fact that they would obviously like the NY market to maintain interest in the playoffs, regardless of my thoughts and the thoughts of my fellow Mets fans on their games, they make for great tv for those without an interest in the outcome, period. That being said, I still woulda had a much better 24 hours if they had gotten blown out Wednesday night than what occurred, but Team Tightrope (or G-d?) obviously prefers it this way. I’d do anything for a blowout win tomorrow, not to mention PHI and MIL losses. If we can get that and we still manage to blow it, I’ll know that I’m just simply too old to put as heart into something that I have no control over while the guys with control are making millions of dollars and I’ll be thrilled that I’ll be graduating this spring… Here’s to hoping the boys pick up tomorrow on today’s huge win and justify the excruciating heartache so many of us Mets fans have felt since Stache struck out with the bases loaded and 1 out and Endy followed with a flyout in the bottom of the 6th of the Heilman Game/(Endy Catch), unable to cement his place in history as the perhaps having the greatest and most significant single inning in postseason history for an individual. I have a paper due in a few hours on Locke and Montesquieu and procrastination often leads to fantastic sports related posts, or at least ones that ramble on and on, hence the bulk. In short, though, while tonight was great, two nights ago shook me REALLY REALLY hard (worse than Game 162 last year) and I just can’t imagine being as devoted a fan next year if we miss out on the Dance by a game – say what you will, David (as he proved again tonight), is just incredibly unclutch and really resembles ARod too much in big spots. He’ll have a few days (hopefully and then some) to prove otherwise. If the Giants can win the Super Bowl, the Mets can absolutely win the World Series. It’s just a matter of going out and taking care of business and playing the game the right way.

  54. nyj0126 says:

This win game we back that sense of confidence. What I worry is that this same confidence was given to me on Tuesday night. And it was stolen from me on Wednesday. If this confidence is stolen from myself and the Mets tomorrow and the Mets aren’t lucky enough to see a Brewers and/or Phillies loss, it may be too late to get back on our feet being out of command.

That heart breaking loss could have once again propelled this team. It got them more hungry. When it’s all said in done in this series, if someone were to tell me we’d split before going in I’d take it. I know we could have done much more. But I also know we could have won 3 out of 4. We were in a better position to score in the bottom of the 9th last night than we were this night with the same exact score.

What really bothers me is that the Brewers have won 4 in a row after losing 8 out of 9. This is something all of us did not expect. The Cubs I believe though will take care of the Brewers. I don’t see a sweep on either side. I think their rubber game will come down to Sunday and I believe that the Cubs will win it. With that being said, 2 out of 3 is a must in this series – if not a sweep against the Marlins.

    • nyj0126 says:

What I meant to say was this series could have been a lot worse, but the result of it wasn’t all that bad. The realistic expectation is what was acquired. And the realistic expectation of the Mets-Marlins series is to win 2 out of 3 being that we’ve won 9 out of 15 again them – a 60% winning percentage. And that difference maker is going to be Johan Santana. There is a very likely chance we’ll split these next two days, as will the Brewers. As may the Phillies. More than anything, we need to win tomorrow. We need Mike Pelfrey to give us 7 solid innings with like 2 ER or less.

  55. nyj0126 says:

I love the Mets and have been a fan for as long as I can remember. Probably since the time I started knowing what baseball was.

I love the intensity of the games. I just would like to see a balance. If we aren’t going to win, I understand. But I will not root for a team that fails me time after time. This is why I’ve simply stopped watching the Knicks. I wouldn’t saying I’m not a Knicks fan, but I’m just on a time out from watching the NBA…

I’ll still believe in this team. I know I’ve said it over and over. And sometimes I think I’m crazy and sometimes I think I make sense. I can see through all of this and see us in the post-season by Sunday…

It’s a good thing I watch these games on the computer… Otherwise those 1 PM NFL game would be too impulsively distracting. I’d never have a minute to use the bathroom or stretch because I’d be checking scores on the commercials lol Screw football though.

Just watched on mlbtv – absolutely unreal … again. Church’s play at the plate had drama, comedy, the lot. How much more will this team put us all through???

The world is placed on pause until this evening when Pelfrey takes the mound. Go Amazins!

all you mutts fans better thank Lou Piniella for doing everything he possibly could to not win that game!! what a joke of a team he put out there…..no Marmol or Wood to close the door and no pinch hit with Aramis, let’s put Daryle Ward out there instead……JOKE

        Getting a little nervous???

      • While I agree with you that he did put a bogus lineup out there, it was a 4-game series. Managers put bogus lineups out there all the time in the last game of a 4-game series – especially when they already have salvaged a split in a meaningless game. Not to mention the poor weather conditions. I’m sure Lou wanted Soriano out there shagging fly balls with his track record of injuries. Let’s also say that this Cubs lineup put up 6 runs. Do we know for sure any other lineup would have done better? But I also understand why a Phillies or Brewers fan would be angry.

You guys are lucky we didn’t win on Wednesday. Should be a fun weekend. May come down to who can sweep a double header….Mets or Phils?

I don’t know what Johas Schwartz did to get your attention but how is the guy employed talking about sports?? First of all he talks like he is narrating a porn film. Secondly he is on the worst show on SNY which is like being the ugliest girl in the WNBA.

  60. metsfanmurph says:

Other than the people that do the Mets games… Jocelyn Pierce is the most knowledgable person on that station which isn’t all that much of a compliment to her considering the mutants that SNY has hired.
