I was at last nights game. I felt the pain…greatly. So much so i was in a funk all day. But I stayed till the final out. After the mets failed to score in the 9th and as the fans began to file out a man sitting next to me asked himself “where are all the fans going”? Without any hesitation I said “they’re not going anywhere..we are all here”. And that is the thesis of this post. Fans.

Now I don’t want to get into a philosophical coversation on what constitutes a ‘fan’, but as devatasted as I was last night, I felt even worse this morning to read the ocetwhelmingly negative posts this morning.

It is games like tonight that should remind all us ‘fans’ who we really are and where we are at. In a motha eff’n pennant/playoff race. Let’s act like it. The energy of tonight true fans who attended and stayed through the game inspite of the forecast made me whish I’d gotten tix for tonight. However, I don’t regret it one bit.

I believe We all will be rewarded if we can simply accept that our team is flawed and stop expecting perfection. Yes our pen is garbage. But I feel that any potential post season oppenant does not want to face the NY Metropolitans.

Positivity. Sycronicity. And ya’ gotta believe.
