Conversely, what if they clinch (WC or Div) on Sunday? How do they deal with a post-clinch celebration at the same time as the pre-planned ceremonies?

Of course SNY will televise it. Question is - will those of us outside the market see it? Extra innings covered postgame celebrations after the Mets won the NLE in 06, but this is different.

Speaking of clinching....what the heck happens if it comes down to Sunday and there is a postgame clinching champagne celebration AND a scheduled postgame "so-long" to Shea??

How will they work those logistics?

Does anyone know if it's going to be televised, or will I be stuck listening to Matt Yalloff and Lee Mazzilli while this is going on?

TOTALLY agree....There was a point in Piazza's career as a Met (98-01 mostly), when he would walk to the plate and everyone in the stadium, players, fans, grounds crew...everyone just KNEW he was going to punish the baseball, all with that snarl on his face....Man I loved watching that guy in a Mets uniform...

I will NEVER forget the emotion I felt on September 21, 2001, when he hit the homerun that lifted NY up, if only for a few moments, after the tragedy of September 11th. I still tear up everytime I see a replay of that homer...

OK, this whole final weekend at Shea idea is finally starting to sink in with me.....Part of me is starting to get REALLY excited to see some of the mets greats return to shea for the final time, and part of me is starting to become a little emotional....all kinds of nostalgia over here....

From the Doc, Keith, Gary, Ron, Mookie Mets to the Piazza, Fonzie, Ventura, Leiter Mets....WOW...Can't wait to cheer for them one last time.

They are considering the possibility that the game is meaningless, and this way everyone has to go and stay for the entire, meaningless game and eat their concessions.
