I have to respectfully disagree with that statement. This team played uninspired baseball for the first two months under a manager who it seems upon further review was pretty uninspiring. No offense to Willie cuz i was one of his biggest supporters but he totally lost the team with his handling of last season's collapse and his firing was obviously the right move. That being said, this team has played plenty inspired baseball just to be at this point with three games to go. They have no bullpen arms they can trust, they have a superstar at third base who is still so bothered by last year that its an everyday batttle to remind him he cant hit a five run home run every at bat, and they have gotten by while losing a quality number three/four starter, a top flight closer, and getting very little from an aging veteran in Pedro. Oh yeah dont forget that their two corner outfielders both have missed long stretches of time(church and Alou) and they have absolutely no one who can hit consistently at second base. In a must win game last night they achieved victory on the backs of a third string catcher and a september call up in his first start of the season. You can say that this team makes it hard every night, that they do things every night to make you want to pull your hair out and root for some other team just to experience a little peace but dont say this team has been playing uninspired average baseball. Thats quite simply not true and if you need evidence look at thier record since willie being fired.

If you watch the older Met games, it is a much better vibe without all that crap. We don’t need any fake applause, just a Hammond Organ and the Curly Shuffle

I hear thru the fish wrap that Marlins are going to play their reg tm cause they want to do to the Mets what they did last yr. Ain't happening cause we have Johan and no Glavine. Plus Mets have handled the Fish this yr so I look forward to 2 out of 3 unless the starter on Sat can give us a great game. Praying for clear skies cause we don't need doubleheaders w/our bp.

I don't know if all the fans that left are boo birds, maybe they had to go to wk early. Anyway at home I could feel the place just shaking by looking at the fans all standing and encouraging on the players which I feel helped the Mets comeback to win. It was a great win and for those that say the Mets have no toughness, look at all the devastating losses inc those against Phillies when the Mets came back the next day to win? If that is not toughness then what is? Sometimes you have to give credit to the other team, Cub, when you lose and blame yourself when you lose games you should of won, Nats, Bravos. OBTW I hope that those out there, scouts, etc, that are hoping they get to play Mets in 1st round get them and then get spanked. Be careful what you ask for! LGM!

If they don't make the playoffs, they have to consider all options. I went through a scenario -- and I typically am loathe to do this sort of "fantasy baseball" thing -- where our lineup had Teixeira, Hudson, Markakis and Adam Jones, with Santana and Halladay in the rotation, and Reyes the only member of the Big Three still around. It would be a younger team with two of the top pitchers in baseball at the front end -- only problem is that it would never happen in a million years.

Hahah I noticed that when I was watching the Mets weren't playing well, but would score runs while I was cooking/going to the bathroom etc, so I stayed away from the game, only intermittently peeking....My last peek was just as Reyes scored the winning run...I may have to do the same thing today

Just curious though....what would the comments section look like if Church got tagged out 50 feet from home plate?

I guess it made up for Wed's debacle....

Whatever the case, Just sweep the weekend!
