So far, from what I can gather, the weather at Shea Stadium is wet and cool, but, ‘fine.’
In other words, it seems like they will be able to start today’s game on time. However, I would not be surprised if it is delayed from time to time through the afternoon.
…Update…12:10 pm…
They just rolled out the tarp, though there is only a light drizzle, while the game’s first pitch has been pushed back to 1:25 pm.

Did they have the tarp on before or did they just now decide to put it on?
“ohhhhhh the pain” joe benigno
i’d rather this game gets rained out so that johan could get an extra day of rest.
My thinking exactly.
Johan would be on his regular rest (4 days). We could use Ollie in the nightcap (3 days rest).
Though Joe and Evan were saying they would get this game tonight, hell or high water.
probably just a precautionary measure. I’m sure the game won’t start too late.
Man, the odds are so stacked against us. Start Johan, have a big rain delay, lose him for the rest of the game, hope the BP arms can keep it together, altered, unproven lineup, throwing Ollie tomorrow on same shortened rest, all with an eye on the weather which is not cooperating…..
Talk about having your collective backs against the wall. If they pull this out, no one can say they lack guts.
Add mother nature to the list of people who hate the Mets.
No DH please. They wont sweep DH. Play today and hope we get a win and root for the cubs. Are the cubs going to lose there last 4 games going into the playoffs?? Thats hard to believe that Lou would want that to happen
