on the other hand Maine was basically a 1st or 2nd yr player trying to establish himself. You would think under those circumstances, the pressure would have been more difficult to overcome. Johan had what roughly 100 wins when he did his thing. Granted, coming off 3 days rest two starts in a row is very very impressive even for a guy widely considered to be one of the top 2 or 3 pitchers in the game.

Your pitcher performed very admirably today. Too bad so many of his team mates didn’t match his heart over the last couple of weeks. Many of you thought the Santana trade guaranteed the Mutts the East. Guess it takes more than one (admittedly excellent) starter to overtake “The Little Red Engine That Could.”

It’s interesting that so many of you think the Philies will be swept in a series with the Dodgers. I’m not sure how we’ll do… much will depend on which Bret Myers shows up to pitch. However, we will be playing the Milwaukee Brewers, The Mutts will once again be playing golf.

PS – Regards from all of us here in Philly to our old pal Billy The Rat. We all miss him, especially Pat The Bat.

Johan because Johan’s 1st half was as good as Maine’s first half but Maine didn’t show up in the second half except for his las outing….
