I like the idea of shaking up the lineup. This team usually responds well to shakeups. Anyway, what could it hurt?

And Johan — now there’s a guy stepping up for his team. There’s a leader. Win or lose today, he was worth every penny.

Wright has been given the ‘franchise guy’ title so he needs to play like one when it counts most. Talk is cheap.

I know the guy wants to win maybe even more than we fans want them to win but actions speak louder than words.

By the way, I love the name ‘snake’.

I applaude your post, Joe D. You (and I now, I’m sure) will take a lot of crap from people for it, but you’re right, this team has come amazingly far considering what they had to work with.

I’ll be disappointed if things do not work out in our favor, but this anger being displayed here is completely misplaced. We are not “owed” a winning season by the Mets. The Mets do not owe us anything except to play as hard as they can, and anyone who thinks they’re not, anyone who says they don’t want to win or don’t care about losing or any of that nonsense is ridiculous and ought to go root for the Phils or the Yanks or anyone else.

These guys put their heart and soul into this game every day, and for a fan to claim that the fans care more about winning than the players do is (a) ridiculous, (b) not supported by any evidence whatsoever, and (c) arrogant as all hell.

I’m disappointed. I’m sad. But whatever happens, we got close — way closer than we have any right to expect, frankly.

These guys have plenty of heart. They just didn’t play consistently and get it done. Well… yet, anyway.

I, too, will not be hanging around in the game thread today, listening to the taunts of the trolls and the anrgy rants of the “entitled.” That makes the game even less fun to watch. But I’ll be supporting my team, win or lose. Because that’s what fans do.

Omar Minaya might understand how to collect talent but he surly doesn’t know the first thing about leadership. Not one person on that team stood up in that dugout and tried to rally the troops.. Everyone was all nestled away in their Jackets with a sad look on their face.

Omar should really be careful in the next year or so.. He is close to driving Mets fans away from this franchise. You can’t invest emotion and dollars into a team like this. They are Chumps..
