Anyone see Reyes in the dugout right after the game? He didn't even look bothered. Wright only looked mildly upset. I guess they kind of expected it.

Its not Minaya's fault!?
The bullpen and 2nd base is not his fault? The shaky starting rotation is not his fault?
Are ya kidding me?

repeat of last year.......congrats to the Brew Crew and the Phillies.

it was fun, tough, and depressing following the mets this year. i was able to follow almost 159 games this year either by tv or radio.

tough loss and really frustrating game today......the top of the eighth inning summed up the season in a nut shell. god, i wish i was wrong on Friday night when i said that the mets would end up winning Saturday's game and lose Sunday's game especially if Oliver Perez was going to pitch.

props to my other fellow mets fans who were at shea and continued to cheer the mets to the bitter end.

Wow. So few postings. Has everyone's interest in the Mets evaporated with the season? I thought I'd be one of a thousand posters. Hmmm.

I'm as disappointed as anyone, and, yes, the bullpen is awful. But, as shaky as he could be at times, you have to figure that if Wagner had stayed healthy, that the net result would've been at least 2 or 3 more W's. So many other guys went DL during the course of the year, too -- Tatis, Maine, Church, Castro, Easley, Pedro. A tough year that (all too ironically, again) came down to the last game of the year. Our guys just weren't good enough (or at least not enough good guys are our guys).

There's a lot of talk about "heart" and "guts" and I often think that's just fan-BS. But the Brewers stepped up today with as much on the line as the Mets and came from behind to win. We, on the other hand, walked in a run and never got a runner into scoring position until the 8th. Against a pitcher we've hit very well in the past (.315 team avg. before today).

I think we've turned into the 1940's-50s-era Brooklyn Dodgers, whose fans were left with little each fall but "Wait 'til next year."

Speaking of next year -- anyone who thinks Wright is going anywhere is high. Have you seen all those #5 jerseys in the stands? How the Mets put him out front as their media face?

Ollie Perez... tough call. This last game didn't help his popularity.

Delgado... has earned a return; even at a year older.

Murphy... 2009 everyday 2nd baseman.

Pedro... gone. It's been fun. Alou & Castillo... see ya. Even if its via an expensive one-way ticket out of town. Schoenweiss, Heilman, Ayala, Feliciano will all be gone, too.

K-rod... start shopping for a nice upper West side apt. After the way the big investment in Santana worked out, and the epic collapse of the bullpen, the Mets will open the vault again, this time to replace Wagner with a marquis closer.

Jerry Manuel will be back and should be. And it's not Minaya's fault. He's brought in some great talent. Right now there are 20-some other teams whose fans are also calling for their GMs head on a stick.

Oh, well... it's been fun. See ya next year. Good job, Matt & crew.

your blaming the players for what is a deeply flawed team

david wright is not gutless or a boy even if he doesnt come through everytime as the savior

flawed team, fan base that got swept up in hype and marketing the fact is the mets on paper are not even better than the marins it really is that simple.

i mean if i told u at beginning of season ayala would be closer you would have laughed

I'm gonna get killed for this but, really , could you imagine a better ending for Shea Stadium?

Anything else would have been too good.

Honestly, it's a pain, but I'm already kind of over it. I won't be watching the postseason, but last year hurt way more.

Listening to Manuel makes me feel better. I want him back. We need CC AND K-Rod.

This s@cks. Let's go mets next year.
