I’m very surprised Furioso. You actually said something that made sense. I like this side of you better. Very good suggestions. I can’t believe you are actually giving your endorsement to this team for next year.

The only thing I disagree with is trading one of the core even if they fail next year. You can’t do that. This core has to stay together and retire as Mets. Plain and simple.

You never should trade:

- a Gold Glove potential HOF 3B that hits great
- a Gold Glove potential HOF CF that hits great
- a potential Gold Glove talented young spark plug SS potential HOF that hits great and runs like the wind.
- a Cy Young award winner stud pitcher that’s a gamer

I think this core needs breaking up, but I’m willing to sacrifice 1 more season (may as well, the previous 3 were wasted) to give you the rope to hang yourselves.

Keep the core.
Fix the pen
Upgrade the rotation
Upgrade 2b and OF

Surround Wright Reyes with whatever supporting cast you think they need.

And WHEN we have no playoffs again next season. STFU and get out of the way, cuz one of them is going to have to be gone.

I think given Delgado’s numbers this year he has MORE VALUE to an AL team because he can DH.

Im not advocating “signing a more expensive FA and spending more money than we have to in 1b”

This team needs to make more changes than the yearly bullpen tinker, replace the 2nd basemen and find a new left fielder.

If you think they can just plug a rook in at 2B. plus a rookie platoon in LF, Find some regurgitated bullpen slop to catch lightning in a bottle and MAYBE sign KRod for 15 mil a year and compete next year you are delusional
