He's a 26 year old lefty who averaged over 200 IP the last 4 years in the NL. If anything, we can use him as a pinch hitter off the bench when the bases are loaded.

Halladay won't be leaving Toranto any time soon and somebody is going to over pay and beat su to Sabathia no matter how much he'd help. He wants monster years and i just can't see him being worth 20 mil a year in 4 years

Byrnes makes $11 million per year for the next two years. So we'd be paying $5 million more than if we keep Castillo, but his contract ends one year before Mush's.

I agree though, I was just pointing out some of the cons about this deal. I'm indifferent to Byrnes other than the fact that he is wildly overpaid for a 4th OF, and I'd do this deal in a heartbeat.

The fact that we could get anything for Castillo would be a coup in itself, let alone a useful player like Byrnes.

But if we are examining pure salary dumps, what about Dontrelle Willis? He's sitting in the Tigers' minor leagues with two years and about $20 million on his deal. I'm sure they'd be looking to dump him.

And if Arizona is so enchanted with acquiring Castillo to replace O' Dog, then ask for Jon Rauch. I heard they weren't that happy with his production down there.

I would only trade Evans for a closer or a #2 or #3 starting pitcher.

And why would we be interested in Pudge?

Explain how he was fleeced on the following?

Kris Benson for John Maine and Jorge Julio?

Gaby Hernandez and Dante Brinkley for Paul LoDuca?

Yusmiero Petit, Mike Jacobs and Grant Psomas for Carlos Delgado?

A fleet of nothing and Carlos Gomez for Johan Santana?

Can you please show the fleecings? And if your support of fleecing is Health Bell, just stop and go talk more with Evan.

Can't imagine a scenario in which the Astros do not think they can win the NL Central next season.

Oswalt is a key to that.
