On Friday, October 3, at 8 pm, SNY will re-air Shea Goodbye: The Closing Ceremony, a one hour version of Shea Stadium’s closing ceremonies that took place this past Sunday.

Also, the complete game from Sunday, including the post-game ceremonies are available for purchase on iTunes.

    Matt,

Is there a way the Mets can include the opening montage played at each home game? The montage which featured the Matchbox-20 song “How far we’ve come”. And can they also include the video of Mr. Met walking around Shea as he reminisces each moment by position? I believe this video played at the end of the first inning on Sunday.

That “Mr. Met Memories” montage really got me choked up during the game. It was after that that I realized the game was over. They were already playing at a funeral. I don’t disagree with the Mets having the ceremony after the game, but they should not have been playing somber videos up on the board. Each and every sound and video byte should have been to pump THIS team up.

I, too, loved that Mr. Met Memories montage. And, I do agree it shouldn’t have somber, but I couldn’t help but feel choked up.

Yea…I can’t wait to purchase that game.

  3. dykstraw says:

HD i hope. SNY has a bad habit of re-airing stuff in SD.

I wasn’t looking forward to the ceremony right after the game was over – however once it began, I started feeling better about our team and proud of our history. This organization needs to do more recognition of our history and traditions. Its important for the fans and should be given more significance in the business plan. No team is like the Yankees nor should we try to be – but we do have a rich and funky history that I believe fans do appreciate and relish.

Agreed….a good start would be inviting alot of those same players for the opener at CitiField…

    • Gasface77 says:

I totally agree. I was not at the game. I was listening on the radio driving back to NY from DC. I turned off the game, but then when I heard Howie introducing the past players and describing the events, I had to listen. I wanted to cry after the Mets lost on Sunday, but listening to the ceremony, I wanted to cry for different reasons. I thought about my memories of Shea, the players, and all of the good times I had with my friends and family watching and rooting for the Mets.

People killed the Mets for having the ceremony after the game, however, after it was all said and done, I thought it was perfect.

However, I will not be purchasing “that game” on itunes any time soon!

How about a montage of all 81 people pulling down the number in center field?

  6. MetsFan4Decades says:

I’ll be recording the Shea goodbye as I was too numb to think about it on Sunday.
In the same respect, I don’t need a recording of the last game at Shea. Once was enough for me – lol.

      Seriously, what are they thinking?

  8. jules says:

  9. HitTheSinkerBall says:

It is all about MAN RAM these playoffs

  10. Flushing_is_Burning says:

I was too depress that day to watch the post game ceremony, maybe I will catch the replay, but will never want to see the last game again, ever.

  11. janss36 says:

    It was tough…

Even tougher are seeing the pics in the Daily News sports section of the dismantling work that is going on…

Lights being taken down, no OF fence and seats on their way out… Very sad…

  12. Does anyone know if iTunes downloads can be converted to DVD-compatible format to burn on a DVD and played later on a home DVD player?

  13. backinbusiness says:

I bought the itunes download — its $1.99.

Having to wait the hours and hours to download a game I never want to be near again was lame, but once it DLed I just cued it up to the end of the game, and it was nice to watch the ceremony, which I missed last week.

FAH III, I don’t know how, but I’m sure that’s possible using some kind of downloadable converter.

    • backinbusiness says:

P.S. I have now learned that “suhcked” spelled right is on the banned list. stupid.

      • I already am familiar with a few decent free converters including “The Film Machine” (which is excellent BTW).

But what format is the iTunes download in and what is the resolution? Can you locate the place where you DLed it and see what type of file it is?

  14. WrightOn says:

So I have a few extra bucks lying around, so I need everyone’s help. Should I buy the last game of the season on iTunes, or should I pay someone to alternatively punch me in the face and kick me in the groin for three hours?
