Sick of seeing smiley faces when the Mets are done. Nothing to be happy about in Met land until Spring.

  3. Chulo says:

Well he makes a good point…
As much as it hurt to see the season end the way it did, at least we got to see some meaningful baseball games throughout the season.

  4. mhochman says:

And of course, you’ve guarenteed that this guy is going to make a bundle by posting it here, I’m betting quite a few people from here bid on it.

  5. nastyslider says:

Trade Church and Schneider to San Fran for Rowand and Molina

    Reyes
    Beltran
    Manny
    Delgado
    Beltran
    Rowand
    Murphy
    Molina

    Rotation
    Santana
    Lowe
    Pelfrey
    Maine
    Niese

    Bullpen
    K-Rod
    Cruz
    Parnell
    Smith
    Feliciano
    Stokes

    • nastyslider says:

Ignore the 2nd Beltran that should be Wright

      Reyes
      Beltran
      Manny
      Delgado
      Wright
      Rowand
      Murphy
      Molina

      • ridethesnake says:

I’m high on Molina too. I would bat Murph 8th tho with his eye and discipline.

      • jscand says:

At first glance I thought “not bad”. But I think people tend to overvalue the type of player Rowand is. I mean he plays hard, but did his presence really help the Giants in ‘08? And his numbers are similar to Church and he played all year. Do you think the Mets would be willing to take on that much money in ‘09? I hope they do, but your scenario adds about $30 million in payroll. If the Mets were to increase payroll by $30 million plus this year, I would:

        sign K-Rod ($15 million)
        sign CC ($20 million)
        sign Lowe ($14 million)
sign Cruz or another reliever ($4 million)

Basically, you are adding $53 million in this scenario, and removing $27 million for a net increase of $26 million. You leave the lineup alone, as it was very good for most of the year. You leave all of your prospects in place, and recoup the draft picks lost by letting Ollie go. You fix the back end of the bullpen, and let the current back end fight for the other five spots, along with some minor leaguers. Heilman and Sanchez are bound to get better, and Schoenweis wasn’t all that bad. Plus, you now have four 200 inning pitchers in the rotation, and a healthy Maine gave them 191 in ‘08. You could even move Maine into the pen if Niese is ready.

        • jscand says:

Sorry, CC probably goes for $25 million, so the increase would actually be $31 million. My thought, and I think it is along the lines of most Met fans, is that if this team is going to charge this much for tickets, and get $20 million from Citi, they should allow the payroll to approach the luxury tax limit if needed.

        • Bacci says:

I want Orlando Hudson more than any other player this off-season.

          We want O-Hud!!!

      • phukthephills says:

its a dirty lineup but again…manny, krod and lowe might be too much….id absolutely love it but i dont think it can be done

    • DjDeF says:

why would san fran make that deal?

    • MetsyMad22 says:

how many times do I have to explain to you that you can’t sign 3 type A free agents! Honestly did you start watching baseball when the Yankees starting making their teams look like this?

      • nastyslider says:

Isn’t Lowe a type B? cause the only type A’s I had in mind we’re K-Rod and Manny.

      • DjDeF says:

You know I get your point as you have continued to argue it over the course of the week. I am not sure what you say is exactly true. Do you have any material that backs it up?

If what you say is true, it ends up hurting the players in it would prohibit them to have every team bidding for their services. My main point is say the Mets sign 2 type A free agents early on. They then decide they want that third type A free agent. The PA would certainly want the Mets to have the opportunity to big on the third type A free agent because it drives salary up.

As far as the draft picks I am not sure how it would work out but I am sure it may include the draft 2 years down the road.

I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, I am just doing some in-depth thinking and trying to find any material that backs it up and cannot find it.

        • DjDeF says:

          *bid on that player

        • DjDeF says:

I found the Rule on Signing Free Agents
          ——————————————————————
If there are 14 or fewer Type A or Type B free agents available, no team can sign more than one type A or B player. If there are between 15-38, no team can sign more than two. If there are between 39 and 62, there’s a limit of three. However, teams can sign as many Type A or B free agents as they’ve lost, regardless of the limits above.

    • Airfeet says:

No way Giants accept that trade…maybe we could ship Church and Schneider for ONLY Molina..

      • jscand says:

Honestly, I think the Giants would make out on that trade. I know everyone loves Rowand, but look at the stats, Church was better in less time. Yes, Molina is an upgrade over Schneider, but Schneider calls a great game. The Giants would be saving a ton of money and get out of an iffy contract in Rowand. If I’m the Mets, I don’t do that trade, as you’d have to move Rowand out of position, and while he would be better in the Mets lineup, he wouldn’t be an improvement over Church. We need to shore up second base and the rotation, not right field and catcher.

    • Why would San Fran do that?

      • rustyjr says:

the giants aren’t like the pirates ( looking to get fleeced by the yankee’s) the giants look to sign aging stars to bad contracts (see mets – new york)

  6. rigsay says:

Glad the Cubs were able to “set up their pitching rotation”. Seems it did a world of good, tee hee.

    • metsftw says:

ryan dempster is terrible and i’m glad he failed. he got lucky all year. now, once the chisox get swept today i’ll be ecstatic.

  7. Gina says:

    No alcohol?

  8. kd bart says:

    Thanks Cubs!!!

For taking the spotlight off of the Mets.

The Second Century is off to a good start.

    • rigsay says:

Early in the season I was kinda rooting for them, if the Mets did not make it. I kinda feel bad for Cubs fans. They are the least threatening fans to deal with since they have absolutely no $hit to talk.

After the Met Cub series and the Cubs failure to put the Brew away on day 162, I’m happy they got what they deserved.

Plenty of room at the bar for all of them, here in misery-ville

  9. 1985Mets says:

The METS would have beaten the Cubs… what a waste..

  10. 1985Mets says:

Does any one hear knows KROD’s postseasons performance??????

  11. 1985Mets says:

    *here

  12. MetsyMad22 says:

Attention Mets GMs in the making:

You cannot sign more than two type A free agents. Some type A free agents this offseason:

Derrick Lowe, K-Rod, Manny, Burrell, Fuentes, CC, Sheets, O-Dog, Furcal, Burnett.

Oliver Perez is also a type A, but he wouldn’t count in the limit b.c. he is our guy.

Additionally, unless the Wilpons completely change personality, we will not be crossing the luxury tax threshold, and we probably stay around 10 mil below it.

So please, stop coming up with these “brilliant lineups” with Manny, anchored by Lowe in the rotation, and KRod and Fuentes in the pen.

    • 1985Mets says:

      well said

      • Airfeet says:

get Manny get Krod…or consider getting Manny, moving Maine to the closer role, and signing Lowe/Burnett

        • nastyslider says:

Ok so do that San Fran deal and resign Ollie as a 4rth starter.

          Reyes
          Beltran
          Manny
          Delgado
          Wright
          Rowand
          Molina
          Murphy

          Rotation
          Santana
          Pelfrey
          Perez
          Maine
          Niese

          Bullpen
          K-Rod
          Cruz
          Parnell
          Smith
          Stokes
          Feliciano

        • rigsay says:

          test

        • MetsyMad22 says:

so you are going to go with a rotation of an uncertain maine, a 22 year old 1st year starter, Pelf who just had his first legit year, and Mr. Unpredictable Oliver Perez? And a bullpen that features a very similar cast? but hey manny will solve everything. and murphy can play 2B cuz he played it for 2 weeks once right!

        • rigsay says:

I would do Molina and Rowand for Delgado, Evans and Schneider. They’d get a little pizzazz for their fans in Delgado, get cheap young flexibility in Evans to go with their other young “core” and have a serviceable catcher in B Schneid.

          Reyes
          Murphy
          Wright
          Beltran
          Molina
          Rowand
          Church/F Mart
          whoever at 2nd

    • DjDeF says:

Here is the rule on Type A free agents
      ———————————————————————————-

      ———————————————————————————–

Anyone know how many type a/b’s there are this year?

      • nastyslider says:

well Perez is a type A so Perez + 2 type A’s mean that we can sign 3.

        • MetsyMad22 says:

no it means we can re-sign Ollie, and then 2 type A free agents. I am always a proponent of starting pitching, youth, and defense. So Manny and Krod to me is the worst idea.

    • 2009-Redemption says:

Alright Metsy what would you do then let’s hear it? (And by the way how long did Murphy play left field before the majors not even two weeks so what is wrong with him going to second?)

      • rustyjr says:

because redemption he might make tim tuefel look like doug flynn at second lol – i do hope the afl works out for him – i love his attitude and his bat

  13. Airfeet says:

When’s Brad Holt gonna be ready to step up for our pen

  14. rigsay says:

Is there a bigger a$$hole than Jeff Suppan. This guy NEVER comes up big except in game 7 on the road, NLCS against a great lineup.

    • akleinb says:

      Honestly

    • Airfeet says:

Suppan made us his bit*c, kinda like how Olsen did it this year

    • Furioso says:

I’ve maintained for the past 3 years that it isn’t Suppan who deserves any credit for that game, rather a lineup of arrogant bullies who felt entitled to a WS but instead choked

      • rigsay says:

I’m starting to believe that, considering how bad Suppan looks every other time he take the mound.

It’s good that him, Weaver and Molina saved their one shining moment of their careers for the Mets.

  15. nastyslider says:

SUPPAN BLOWS. SCREW THE BREWERS THEY HAVE TO MESS UP OUR LIVES TWICE IN 1 WEEK!!!!!!!!

  16. nastyslider says:

    I HOPE SUPPAN DIES!!!!!!

    • rigsay says:

Cubs and Brew deserve to rot in h ell together. Hopefully the Dodgers can take care of the Phils. I got no problem with the Mannies winning it all.

      • Furioso says:

The Cubs and Brews made the playoffs. It is the METS who deserve to rot in h ell (if anyone does)

      • jimyager says:

I used to care about who won and lost in the playoffs and WS, but, now I dont. The Mets blew and I dont give a RAT A$$ who wins it now. I would like to see the Cubs and Rays plat , but, that aint gonna happen. I dont like the Red Sox or Phillies, but, perhaps watching the Phillies win the WS and seeing the banner wave every time we play there will motovate them.

  17. nastyslider says:

I HOPE MANNY DESTROYS THE PHILLIES AND THEN WE’LL SIGN HIM AND WE’LL SCREW THOSE FILTHADELPHIA BA$TARDS FOR LIFE!!!!!!

  18. nastyslider says:

    WTF IS C.C GONNA PITCH?

  19. Furioso says:

Anyone read the Post today? Manuel basically called the entire team out under his “no more selfish play” rhetoric.

Which makes me wonder exactly why he didn’t address it during the season in the first place.

    But whatever….this is a start I guess.

Smarter, more fundamental baseball will cover up some of the warts but can’t compensate for lack of guts in a big spot

  20. metman04 says:

of course suppan is dominant in playoffs except for 1 time we need him to be…GO DODGERS!

  21. rigsay says:

Uhh Phillies Sawx makes me nauseus, lets go Hollywood

  22. Simpsonsfan421 says:

must be a slow news day

  23. dominicanboy08 says:

so, besides manny and pat burrel, what are the other free agents outfielders?

  24. nastyslider says:

Yo I will kill someone if the Phillies or the Red sox win the world series we’re already bring dominated by Boston, we don’t want Philly dominating us too. Let’s go NY Giants!

    • rustyjr says:

i don’t mind boston although i’d rather see dodgers tampa and then see the rays win it all – cliff floyd deserves it

    • Prismo says:

What do you mean? The Giants beat the Pats in the superbowl last year. How is that Boston dominance?

And the Red Sox have nothing to do with the Mets. Yankees fans hate the Red Sox; Mets fans shouldn’t care.

      • nastyslider says:

I know thats why I said let’s go NY giants, but I really don’t wanna see the red sox become a dynasty like the yankees.

      • rustyjr says:

by the way prismo regarding what you wrote me last nite – look i’m a die hard fan and this past year killed me – especially the last week i just disagree that drastic changes need to be made there were times (01,03,04) whhen i hoped the teams would tank because of the f.o’s hands up their butts approach – but i do believe they are determined to put a championship team on the field

  25. nastyslider says:

hey How bout a Dodgers v.s Red Sox World Series. Manny against his old team. Should be a thriller to watch + Joe Torre is there too. That would be sick.

    • rustyjr says:

that would be a ratings grabber but like i wrote id like to see tampa win it all – that would be like rubbing salt in the wounds of yankmee fans everywhere

      • nastyslider says:

yeah but if the Dodgers win they’ll regret letting go of Torre and they’ll be kicking themselves the whole offseason. But im still rooting for the rays. And I hope the Phillies get owned!

        • rustyjr says:

agreed i just want to see cliff finally get a ring!

        • nastyslider says:

I think if either one of those 2 teams win the Yanks will be crying. But the sight of Philly winning the world series gives me a heart attack!

        • rustyjr says:

hank will throw a temper tantrum so big george will have to buy him a pony :P

  26. rustyjr says:

guys i posted this last nite just wondering if u think this might be a good alternative for the pen i got this from mets fever – it sounds like a possibility.
In 2006 the Mets were scouting teams to bolster their pitching staff for the playoff run at the trade deadline. One of the pitchers it is believed they looked at was Juan Cruz.

The New York Mets have scouted the starts by Miguel Batista and Juan Cruz the last two days amid reports they were looking for more pitching for the stretch run, and the teams have had preliminary conversations about a possible deadline trade. source East Valley Tribune
Since then Cruz has been moved from the rotation into the pen and has become a solid set-up man. The 27 y/o right handed pitcher made 57 appearances this year in which he had an ERA of 2.61 with a record of 4-0. In eight major league seasons he has an ERA of 4.00 with a record of 29-31.

If K-Rod’s price tag skyrockets, the Mets could target a cheaper option like Brian Fuentes. In either case, Juan Cruz would be a nice arm to add for a setup role, as Cruz succeeds against both left- and right-handed hitters, unlike pretty much everyone from the Mets’ 2008 crew. Joe Smith will be back, deservedly so, and Bobby Parnell and Eddie Kunz should get chances to crack the staff. A closer and a solid setup guy like Cruz would improve the rest of the bullpen by limiting the others’ appearances, so perhaps even some of the biggest 2008 culprits could succeed in Flushing in 2009. source SNY

  27. rigsay says:

Corey I have no hart $tinks. Its a cryin shame he won the last All star spot over Wright. He hasn’t had a pulse since July.

  28. rustyjr says:

jeez hart is a scrub !!

  29. rustyjr says:

hey they forgot the aaron heilman voodoo doll and the luis castillio gimpy knee ointment lol

  30. rigsay says:

hart has been terrible in the field this series and never gets a hit.

  31. rigsay says:

I called that HR before it happened. Mota to Burrell is an automatic dinger.

  32. nastyslider says:

    Burrell is red hot!

  33. Airfeet says:

Can Managers be traded??? Can we trade Manuel and Heilman to the Cubs for Pinella ??

  34. rustyjr says:

DAMN THOSE PHILLIES DAMN EM TO HE-LL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. rustyjr says:

VICTORINO – DEAD! JIMMIE ROLLINS – DEAD! CHASE UTLEY – DEAD! get the picture?? lol

    • nastyslider says:

Especially Victorino. He’s a dirty Ba$tard!! Who tries to take down people on purpose!

      • rustyjr says:

iI’D LIKE TO SEE ROWDY RODDY PIPER SMASH A PINEAPPLE OR A COCONUT OVER HIS HEAD!!!!!!!!!!

  36. rustyjr says:

guys at mlb trsge rumors they have all the f.a’s for 09 cliff floyd is on the list do we sign him for a leadership role?

  37. CaseStreet says:

I really hate seeing the Phillies make it to the championship. Let’s go Dodgers!

    • kd bart says:

Did you really expect the Brewers to beat them? The Mets’ failings and getting to play the Pirates at home, probably the worse team in baseball the last third of the season, is the only thing that got them through.

  38. FlightFromHouston says:

    FIRE OMAR

  39. Cactus says:

    it sold for 21.50.

btw this guy also has an auction to sponsor his fantasy football league – you can choose your own name for it – currently at 17 cents.

  40. kd bart says:

Don’t mind the Red Sox winning it all. Been my second favorite team since the late 70s. The enemy of my enemy. Them winning it all really pisses off Yankee fans.

  41. Hit The Weights Zeile says:

I sure hope the dodgers pitching holds up against philly and manny stays hot. i dont think i could handle watching the phils raise an NL pennant next year or god forbid a WS banner.

  42. nastyslider says:

Yeah the Angels play real fundamental baseball huh Jerry? lol

  43. nastyslider says:

    LETS GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DESTROY PHILADELPHIA!!!

  44. D-Day says:

GIANTS WIN, EAGLES LOSE AND ARE IN LAST PLACE! F philly!
    GO DODGERS!!!!!

  45. MeTzGuY31 says:

I’m surprised no one has brought up Mark Prior yet. Supposedly he is a free agent. I really think he’s worth the risk as we wouldn’t have to give him a relatively large contract. I think he could thrive as a closer with his nasty stuff. I know it would be a crapshoot because he obviously has no closing experience, but the limited innings he would see would be better on his shoulder and he could possibly make it through a whole season for once. Just a thought.

    • Airfeet says:

hed be real nice to throw in our pen

      • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

if they get everything in order with their rotation and bullpen and feel like taking a risk with prior im all for it but i wouldnt want him to be relied on for anything we’ve made that mistake too many times.

  46. nastyslider says:

DUDE JOE TORRE IS THE FREAKIN MAN!!!!!!

  47. Shane Victorino says:

    Dear Mets fans,
Maybe you guys can go out and find some heart in the off season.

    Love,
    Shane

  48. PhuckDaMuts says:

I was at a resturant when a guest frantically wrote NYM on a piece of paper and held it up. He was choking to death and decided that would get hime help quickly.

    NYM=Universal Sign for Choking

    • nastyslider says:

Very funny just wait till you turds get swept in the NLCS.

    • DAG says:

dude if you’re gonna sign on our blog and make jokes, at least post something funny. that was awful. maybe next time you’ll spend a little more time setting up the punchline.

      • PhuckDaMuts says:

Did you hear about the Mets jerseys at Wal-Mart?

They were recalled because they were a choking hazard.

How many Mets players does it take to do the laundry?

One. However, if there is any folding to do, then all twenty-five show up.

  49. Airfeet says:

Mets are gonna win 105 games next year…

    • nyj0126 says:

If we have a good bullpen, with a solid closer, don’t have Castillo playing 2B and stay healthy – than yes it’s quite possible we can win 100-105 games.

The Mets have 30 million coming off the books. The bulk of this should be committed to our bullpen. All of the money should not be directed into one play – the closer. So I’m thinking Fuentes is the best option, not K-Rod.The Wilpon’s will need to be willing to spend. They need to get us a real bullpen rather than try to throw trash out there again. They have enough money to lure in a guy like Biemel, Reyes or Ohman from the left + Juan Cruz or David Weathers from the right. They’ll be willing to spend. It’s all depend on how swift if Omar’s with the agents.

  50. nastyslider says:

OMAR MINAYA IS A TERRIBLE PUBLIC SPEAKER!!!!!!!

  51. ninohernes says:

    Here is an idea:

Opening day at Citi Field, free handkerchief day. Attend the game and get a free Mets Hanky. Can be washed and reused all through the season. Keep it in your pocket durring every Mets game. Dual purpose, hankey/rally towel!

  52. nyj0126 says:

Here is an idea. Get a real major league bullpen with a good closer. It’ll be the best kit we can have. The Phillies had a closer who went 41 for 41 with saves – even after battling injury problems in the beginning of the season. What the Mets would have done to go back a year and acquire him?

The Phillies went 79-0 when leading in the 9th inning. The Mets blew 11 ninth inning saves along with 18 others in previous innings. If Omar leaves Heilman, Show and garbage in the pen – why should we watch? Why should our expectations rise? We should we believe? I need to see change to come back.

I’ll tell you the truth – if I see like 5 or 6 out of the 7 main bullpen on opening day, I won’t watch the Mets to win for my own personal satisfaction. Just for the sake of principle. They won’t deserve to nor would they if Castillo’s on their roster.

I’ll never get over these last two seasons because it has been hard. Every bit of anguish I have right now is what I had at this time last year. It’s like that movie Groundhog day. And I don’t want to be there again next season. Sometimes I think it’s like the only way this can’t happen is if the Mets are up 14 games with 2 weeks to go or aren’t even in competition.

If the dynamic changes for the bullpen though, this can change. This means to basically change nearly every player down there – because this is the part of the team that dragges us down.

I’m sick and tired of hearing the whines about Wright, Beltran earlier in the year and all that. If the bullpen blew a lead in the 9th inning 11 times, it means that the hitters and starting pitchers put this team in position to win 100 games. What about all those 8th inning mess ups too?

So guy’s like Tatis, Beltran and Delgado give this team big hits – the Mets bullpen blows it and people expect them to do it again like they’re a bunch of machines? How about just get a real bullpen. This doesn’t require trading the core. There’s a load of good relievers on the FA list. I’ll be severely disappointed if I don’t see a new pen.

I really am baffled at the idea of people thinking trading Reyes, Wright or Beltran being traded. Even if they don’t know it, I know it’s just steam. I just can’t sit here and believe that steam is justified.

Wright had plenty of hits including big ones. Not as many this September as last. If I’m wrong, look at his numbers. Delgado? Beltran? Reyes? All of these guy’s did even more.

These hitters did their job. They shouldn’t have had to been ”clutch” in the last week or two of the season. The brilliant starts of Santana, Pelfrey and Perez along with the great hitting of our line up should have allowed them to only needed to go 7-10 and still get in by 5 games.

I won’t sit here and blame any hitter. Not even Luis Castillo, even if he wasn’t apart of the success. I’ll sit here and blame the bullpen, because they literally cost us the best record in baseball. An average bullpen would have gotten this team 100 easily and it’s a disgrace they didn’t even get to 90.

With that being said, the two people or collective group I blame for this are Omar Minaya and the Mets bullpen. I blame the Mets bullpen for not being able to hold onto leads, but I blame Omar Minaya for never doing anything about it. All he did was try to wing a guy in, wing a guy out all season. No major moves. He never pulled the plug on any player that destroyed our season. In my opinion, he showed a lack of initiative. And I think Fred Wilpon showed even less by signing an extension for this loser as if he actually truly put the best players out on the team. He sure did in every place outside of the bullpen, but he put no attention to the bullpen.

The main reason why I’ll never get over these last two seasons is for this.

All the Mets had to do in 2007 was go 7-10 in their last 17 to clinch the NL East. This is the record the Mets had in their last 17 this year, but lost.

The Mets were either zombies or outplayed in their last 17 last year. They didn’t look like they had hope. The Mets were in command of the majority of these games. They should have swept the Braves on the weekend when Ayala blew back-to-back saves in the 9th. That’s the season right there. And I can’t even blame Ayala nor Jerry, because Omar’s the guy who put him there and gave Jerry no other choices.

So if the Mets went 7-10 last season and 10-7 this season, they would have won 3 straight NL East titles. We’re talking about .500 baseball. The thing the Mets were notorious for from June ‘07 to June ‘08. Screw a therapy kit. I’m at my last witts with this team. It’ll all crumble unless there’s a positive turning point.

All I can say is at least the Mets spread their disease onto others. The curse of the black bat lived – Johan’s broken bat that hit the ball and got him a hit against the Cubs. The Cubs got swept and they deserved it. And when the Angels lose to Boston, I’ll love it. All that work for nothing.

I really do believe that people do get brainwashed. I know there are a lot of sensible fans out there who have put all of this together though.

I think a lot of fans have been sold into the idea that Minaya’s a good GM because he has put good players out on the field. Because he’s been a risk taker – with wins and losses. And perhaps his wins outweighing the losses. At least on paper that is.

It’s like people forget he was the man who signed Willie. Who gave Peterson an extension. The man who was responsible for placing every player on the ‘07 and ‘08 roster.

  56. nyj0126 says:

I’m not saying he hasn’t done good things, but I just don’t understand how he earned a 3 year extension. He already had one year left. Manuel’s the guy who won more than 59% of his games. Jerry’s the guy who guided the Mets to a 26-9 run in August/early September. But Jerry gets 2 years? And Omar gets 4? What exactly did Omar do to deserve an extension? Why couldn’t his success for this season be merited based upon next season’s success? Wouldn’t it be a more intelligent approach that’d also turn out possibly saving the Wilpon’s bucks? Or was the Minaya extension just a thing of public image? To make the Mets look like they got hope?

  57. nyj0126 says:

Omar: ”I’m a Willie guy.” ”I’m in full suport of Willie.” Didn’t he say this like on May 31st, but he fired him 2 1/2 weeks later? How does this make any sense? Why didn’t he ever explain his logic for this? Omar sure would make a good politician – a talking head.

  58. nyj0126 says:

Isn’t it a little ironic that the Mets had countless amounts of times to fire Willie – but didn’t? And than let their composure slip at the wrong time? Doesn’t this sound like the Mets in the last 17 games of back-to-back seasons? What about the Padres sweep 5 game losing streak with 3 identical scores? The media was even calling out these firings.

anyone else read articles by Ken Rosenthal on foxsports. is it me or does the guy just like to bash the mets every chance he gets. i REALLY hate him!
