But I don't know if his defense made up for his lack of offense. He was in and out of the lineup so much and having Castillo or some other putrid hitter batting before him certainly didn't make him look any better. If we have a quality 7 hitter, then Schneider isn't a problem. However, if Luis Castillo is batting 7th, it magnifies Schneider's offense to the point where his defense (this year, anyway) didn't seem to make up for it. Don't think people are being morons because they disagree with you. You are a Schneider fan, but lots of Mets fans aren't. I would trade just about anything for Russell Martin. He's a gamer.
