Andrew Beaton had several good points. A stadium is a field and seats. If I want sushi, I'll go to a Japanese restauarnt. You wouldn't need wide concourses if you would just sit down and watch the game instead of spending all your time getting beer and chicken fingers. I went to about 35 games this year. I sat somewhere between the bases every game, but in the New Dodger Stadium that blights my CF parking lot, there has to be less than half the number of seats that fit that description. Wait until you sit in fair terratory to see how bad that is. Outraged? Heck yeah. Those empty seats you saw this year were sold. It will be worse next year, so don't think that these will be suddenly available to you. The worst insult is the cancelling of the plan accounts after so many years. The ticket office says that we will get a pre-sale code (this year only) after season tickets are sold. The Mets are telling me that they no longer require my business. Outraged? Heck yeah. Enough so that, after 45 seasons, I'm moving on to another team.

if you're gonna eliminate the divisions, I say just go back to the old days: best record in each league goes to the World Series. That way you know one of the two best teams in baseball will have won the World Series.

Maybe the Mets losing the division to a team that went on to win the World Series would reflect better on them if they hadn't also lost the Wild Card to a team that got knocked out in the first round.

It'll be harder to get to a prime game, but it's already hard.

By all accounts, tickets will be cheaper next year.

After watching 60 Minutes last night, It was interesting of how finacial firms over extending on mortgages and swap ( unregulated insurance to backup bad mortgages). Unforunately, they did not have the swaps in cash to pay off. Anway, the mentioned Citi-Bank as having these swaps. I wonder, just wonder if Citi went out or merged with Would we have Chase Field ? Wow remember Houston . This is why it should have municipal names or non sponsorship. I know $$$$$ talks, but bankrupts walk.

Yes! Save face and become a Yankees fan ! The entire world is laughing at you NYM fans. Two amazing choke jobs two years in a row! The Mets are the minor league team in NY!

Did you hear about the Mets jerseys at Wal-Mart?

They were recalled because they were a choking hazard.

How many Mets players does it take to do the laundry?

One. However, if there is any folding to do, then all twenty-five show up.

By that logic the attendance will be dominated by well healed people. Very few medium income people can afford to buy tickets for 20-30 games a year...not if they have kids or parents to care for, etc. And therefore the playoffs will be attended almost exclusively by the wealthy. It's not enough that they get the best seats...The sense of entitlement is coming from those who can afford to buy tickets for (and not necessarily attend) a lot of games, not from those who cannot afford to do so. Your policy will exclude the latter; my policy will not exclude the former.

phillygalfan,
Beating CC Sabathia is one thing, but beating him in his 4th straight start on 3 days rest is another. Your team is very good, it's hard to say otherwisel. Tip my cap to you guys for being opportunistic where the Mets have faltered. Your team turns it on when it counts. Definitely have the heart of a champion. That being said, I will cheer against them with every bit of my existence...until the final out in the world series. Of course, my cheering for them could play right into your hands - judging by my baseball luck the past two seasons.
