While I agree a lot of bullpen arms are hit or miss …

didn’t 3 of the final 4 teams in 06 have big FA closers (Jones DET, Wagner, NYM, and Izzy STL)?

Just b/c something has to be true for a small sample of 4 teams this year, doesn’t make it a rule.

Did you know that more people die in hospitals every year than at home? So, if I get very sick, I’m staying home…..

either way its time for Omar to show[especially with his 4 yr ext] to show he can rebuild this bullpen.Not being cocky but i said the mets should have traded wags earlier in the year.

I think that if you believe that Sabathia can last throughout the contract you have to get him over a reliever. The starter handles over 200 inings, while the reliever only throws 60.

I never understood why pitching the last inning with a lead is so much more stressful than having to pitch the first 7 hoping your team can give you a lead.

So many other teams have pitchers that can throw an inning (mid relief) without imploding – whay can’t the Mets pitchers get 3 outs. So many times, they’d get 2 outs and a little single. You feel, ok, its just a single – all they need is an out in any form. Next thing you know is that the other team scored 3 or 4 runs.
