I’ll be the first to say – I hope he gets the job!

(purely for non-selfish reasons of course…*shifty eyes*)

    • mikey_FF says:

Haha … I think you spoke for the whole site.

    • adropofvenom says:

One of those things where most fans won’t know what you’ve got until he’s gone. Then again, it’s not like he would get a fair chance to succeed in Seattle with their ownership group anyways, they’re the same people that forced the bad re-signings of Ichiro and Johjima simply because they were Japanese, Johjima especially was stupid because he was blocking their star Catcher prospect.

But Bernazard has a really bad rep among Mets fans, he singlehandedly found Daniel Murphy watching his son’s baseball games, nevermind that he’s the biggest supporter in our organization we have when it comes to building in-house, and yet most fans can’t wait to get rid of him, because of rumor and innuendo that did not name him specifically, but he will get blamed for because he’s the fans punching bag.

      • HOFMets57 says:

When MULTIPLE sources are reporting the same thing, namely Tony B. = sleeze, then you tend to believe it.

      • metsfrenzy says:

If you knew him – and I have been involved with him- you wouldn’t be saying that . He is a prick and the only reason he is there watching his son’s games is because he hopes his kid gets to the pros… will not happen. He is not a good guy-trust me and he does not have the qualifications to be a GM

    • metsfrenzy says:

agreed- get him the $$$@@@%% out of here. Can’t stand the guy- where the heck did he get the qualifications to be a GM anyway…

  2. ravin108 says:

Good, Bernazard will be gone and we can put Wayne Krivsky in his place

  3. Fiya Minaya says:

Please make this happen. One less Minaya crony will benefit everyone.

  4. mouserdz says:

    Good Riddance

  5. One Day This Team Will Kill Me says:

I think we are all in agreement on this: Lets go Tony! Good Riddance

  6. npanzeca says:

Good luck Tony, lets hope you go out there and don’t come back.

  7. SheaVendor says:

CYA!! We should start a letter writing campaign to the Mariners…

    Hire him!!!

  8. Elbuniondelduque says:

rooting for you tony, have a nice trip!

  9. thekid024 says:

Let’s hope he gets it. There’s way to much negative written about him for all of it not to be true. Get him out of the organization.

  10. npanzeca says:

Hopefully he can BS the Mariners as much as he has BS’d Paris Wilpon and Omar.

  11. Visch says:

    Good Luck!!

Lets hope the Mariner’s ineptitude continues long enough to pick him.

  12. GW says:

    I agree. Take him away!

  13. lambay says:

and don’t let the door slam on you on the way out!!

    • NYMBosco says:

I guess he figured now that omar is locked up for three more years that he will have to wait too long to take omar’s job! Maybe the wilpons gave omar the big extension to send a message to bernazard to get the heck out….

      • npanzeca says:

If that is the case it would be well worth the extension.

        • NYMBosco says:

I guess he won’t be using willie randolph for a reference….

        • Dr. Alan Lans says:

I’m happy to give him a very good referral

        • Steviefan84 says:

I think you got about a good 100,000 referrals towards Tony’s hiring in the Mariners ballclub. I don’t exactly know what he does other than throw guys under the bus and answer questions for Omar.

Is there any other purpose for Tony B on the Mets besides being an Omar crony and be a person Mets players go to when they need someone to hold their hand?

  14. dominicanboy08 says:

is he under contract? can we trade him for ichiro?

    • SweepTheLeg says:

Oh please get him the hell out of here..this guys is more trouble than he is worth..fist move of the winter get Tony the hell out!!

  15. bkfitz says:

I hope he gets it and then trades us Felix Hernandez and JJ Putz for Luis Castillo.

  16. youthmovement says:

Please hire him, and since he believes in the farm system so much, maybe he will take Dan Murphy (who really doesn’t have a position) for JJ Putz. That will end the 2B experiment with Murphy and open the door for O-Dog, plus gets us our closer.

  17. FlightFromHouston says:

Dear Seattle: you’ve got to hire this guy! He is a baseball genius!

    • Dr. Alan Lans says:

Guys, we’re taking the wrong approach here. We have to make believe we really want him to stay and be outraged that he’s interviewing somewhere else. Somebody please get this rolling.

  18. Danny says:

Yeah, Willie was an awesome manager. I don’t know why Tony B wasn’t on his side.

  19. zen says:

    break a leg!

  20. foul bunt strikeout says:

Can we throw in some seats from shea to help get this done??

Is Wayne Krivsky still with the organization?

  21. ExileInLA says:

    Dear Seattle,

We really hate this guy. He’s been a cancerous presence in our organization. He undercuts his boss, and the field manager, through media leaks and playing favorites in the clubhouse.

    Won’t you please hire him?

    Sincerely,

    Mets Fans

    {Gee, how can that not be a persuasive job reference???}

  22. cval says:

It’s amazing how much people hate this guy without knowing almost anything about him. Without Tony B, we wouldn’t have Daniel Murphy, Mike Pelfrey would have spent at least the first two months of the season in the minors, and Willie might still be the manager.

  23. docgood86 says:

Does the Mariners need a 3rd base coach as well? I have a perfect candidate for them..

Good Luck Tony, I am PRAYING that you get the job..

  24. NYMBosco says:

The mariners are idiots for interviewing this guy…guess they didn’t do their homework….tony b’s undermining tactics and cancerous clubhouse influence have been public for a while now….

    • Aha. But he can’t undermine anyone if he is the Player/Manager/GM.

    • not to mention, he is the director of player development for a team that “hasn’t developed any players” according to the media, other gm’s, etc. goes to show you how wrong they were.

ian kennedy and phil hughes are probably 1 & 2 on baseball america’s top prospects. hehe, 1 & 2….more than their combined win total.

    • Gland says:

The league makes teams interview minorities. I’m sure this is one of the major factors in him getting an interview.

  25. therealsince86 says:

That could be our best offseason move by far. Then maybe he will get there and decide to unload Ichiro, Putz and others.

  26. coach says:

Awsome, hope he gets the job then we have some place to send Delgado. Deal him for Bedard or Putz!

While we’re at it maybe he’ll take Castillo too??????

    Wishful thinking………

  27. Tony, here’s a little hair gel. Make sure you got breath mints. For some reason, I can see this job interview going like Wil Ferrell’s in Step Brothers.

  28. BringBackDaveTelgheder says:

Please get the job – this guy is at least painted as a creep in the media. Who knows if it’s true at all…

  29. It’s funny, but we have Bernazard to thank for the only position player drafted during Omar’s tenure to have a significant impact on the ML level so far.

What does that say about Omar? And perhaps this speaks highly of Bernazard?

I’m not sure about Bernazard’s interpersonal skills, and he was a snake in the gra-ss when it came to Willie, who I supported. But this organization needs as many baseball-smart people as it can get because I certainly haven’t seen any evidence that Omar can do things on his own.

I’m not saying that if Bernazard left it would be a great loss. Just that Omar should perhaps concentrate on brining in some very smart baseball people to as-sist him.

  30. 1985Mets says:

If tony goes to Seattle, all the spanish players will go to Seattle. lol

  31. rogasm says:

    See ya Tony.

  32. BTW, I bet he doesn’t get the job. From the few times I’ve seen him speak, his English isn’t very good, and he comes off very gruff and unpolished. This impression would jive with his reputation for rubbing people who don’t know him the wrong way. Remember all the agents and/or free agents who bad-mouthed him after dealing with him? Including Delgado?

No one will hire him if he can’t be a good communicator. He doesn’t have any track record yet as an as-sistant GM that could help him overcome an abrasive personality.

  33. Jmiles says:

Getting Tony to the West Coast as far away from NY as possible would be great. He’s a snake and a backstabber.
Also since it’s the Jewish holidays getting a player named Putz would be a nice gesture.
you see even a Putz has a chance to make it in NY

    • The Slider says:

Don’t we have enough putzes on this team? Maybe we just don’t have the right putz?

  34. Flushing_is_Burning says:

Who’s collecting money for the farewell party?

  35. The Slider says:

Good riddance JO! Don’t let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out the door.

  36. FireOmar says:

I’d be happy to play for his plane ticket – and i hope he gets the job…perhaps omar would like a GM position there too! Good Riddense.

  37. chmets says:

Bernazard is a trouble maker. I’m ok to see him leave the organization.
