Honestly, I feel like the 7 with 17 is a small argument. Managers, terms of morale and leadership anyway, probably have a slow impact over time.

I'm referring to the team's poor finishing ability. It's not like Willie pulled out the starters for third games of series, or rested any regulars or played the last couple of weeks like spring training.

When I say it was probably time for a change, all I mean is that maybe the team needed change for changes sake, fresh perspective. If they did, they didn't get it. It needs to be outside the organization. (Which is where Manuel should be)

By the way, when you say "it" wasn't his fault, what are you referring to? If he was any good, there should be no "it" at all!

And how can you then go on to say "it was probably time for a change" for a manager that had been doing a good job for three years? How does that make sense? Manuel may not be the answer, but to me, a manager doing a good job manages his way into the playoffs with a 7 game lead and 17 to go, no questions asked. That alone was horrific managing and worthy of losing one's job.

Signing with the Brewers makes less this year, but more overall. Not brain surgery.

Jorge Sosa was a solid 5th starter and Willie tried to make him Carlos Marmol.

I guess this really becomes Randolph's baseball IQ test.

If he accepts a position with the Brewers, that will almost certainly pay less than what he stands to make by reading the funny pages all of 2009 he is really not fit to manage a major league baseball team.

The Brewers are almost ceratinly going to lose Sabathia and Sheets.

I care more about what will happen to Willie in the coming months than I do about your not caring for it, yet I had to read that too.
