I wouldn't do this trade as rumored right now either, but generally, I certainly wouldn't complain about getting Mo Vaughn's 4th-6th seasons, when he was an elite hitter and an MVP.....If we were somehow guaranteed to get those same numbers from the same period of Fielder's career, I'd take that in a heartbeat.

I just don't expect it to happen.... But than again, how'd we end up with Johan? Suprises. If we end up with one or two nice suprises, I'll be happy. The bullpen remains that main concern though... Perhaps K-Rod will be one of those major splashes.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

1) This is the NY Post we're talking about. AKA - The rag. You know - the paper they try to get rid of for like 5 or 10 cents at 3 PM in Manhattan because they've made to many copy's of what'll later become hobo's bankies.

2) I'm sure if Fielder's dealt - they'd want to move him to the AL. Where he can't harm them. Not to one of the team that was in a dead heat for the NL Wild Card in the last couple of weeks of the season.

In all honesty though, I do believe he'll be traded. If not this off-season, maybe next one. The Brewers need to signing pitching in losing Sabathia & Sheets. I wouldn't condone trading pitching for him. The good thing about a potential trade is that Delgado's about as good of a temporary option the Brewers could find out there for Prince. I wouldn't trade Niese to get him because that'd make our pitching weaker in the future. I would be willing to trade Parnell though because the projections aren't as high.

I could see moving Fernando Martinez in such a deal too because Prince is an amazing ball player. We have a great core of players in Wright, Reyes, Beltran & Santana. Throw Prince into that puzzle. This guy's a monster. He hit 50 HR in his second season. He could match up against Howard for the next decade. It'd bring some balance. Like how Wright is to Utley. Or Reyes is to Rollins. I just don't know if a Delgado/F-Mart/Parnell + say Evans or someone else could do it.

Look at the FA market for pitchers.

Look at how much a FA with Pelfrey's stats will probably be getting. Yes, Pelf is worth more than Fielder. You can NEVER have too much pitching.

And remember, you get Pelf for 5 years, while you get Fielder for only 3.

Since when is Murphy playing LF? He played 2B all through the AFL until he got hurt in the All Star Game and hasn't played at all since. He'll probably start at 2B as early as Friday.

I'm not giving up on Murphy at 2B until Murphy gives me a reason to, and he most certainly hasn't yet.
