Roger from Clearwater sent in an e-mail asking:
“When will the Mets release their spring training schedule.”
According to the team, they usually release their spring training at some point in December.
However, SpringTrainingOnline.com is keeping track of the team’s likely spring training schedule, based on what other teams have already posted on their websites.
By the way, from what I recall, the Mets will play a two-game exhibition series with the Red Sox in Citi Field, after they leave Florida for Spring Training, but before the regular season begins.

I thought that the red sox series was a known thing?
Yeah, that press release I guess makes it an internet rumor.
We should have a Metsblog spring training weekend in Florida. Go to a game, go out for some drinks, maybe find a field for a friendly baseball game. Is this crazy?
if it could work out..i’d be in
I know that they want a “shakedown cruise” but the Red Sox preseason games diminish the event of Opening Day. Additionally, I bet they are making full season ticket holders, and maybe even the 40 game plan, buy tickets at full regular season prices. Just another reach into the fans’ pockets.
(sigh)
