trade fmart, parnell and 1 other prospect for russel martin
trade kunz, hielman, evans and maybe 1 more (schnieder) for putz or any other closer
sign cruz, ibanez, and garland

reyes
murph 2nd
wright
delgado
beltran
martin
ibanez
church

johan
pelf
maine
garland
some1 else - maybe niese or another cheap FA

closer - putz/whoever
setup - cruz

once again...the most important thing for this team to fix is the 8th and 9th inning bullpen..of coarse there are other problems but i think if we can get players to shut down the opposition in the 8th and 9th then we would be one of the best teams in the major leagues

The dude is already ahead. It was IIRC a 1995 Mitsubishi. Not worth close to the 2700 alrady peldged!

He did say that anything raised above some figure (I think his new car, but not apecified if he was getting a new BMW) would be donated to someother guy whose car was also flipped.

By the way, I do agree with you that dollars and cents type GMs are more important for sports with caps, something baseball obviously doesn't have.

I probably would have rather seen Arbuckle, because Amaro has been somewhat of a "yes man" throughout his tenure. Then again, he had to be since he wasn't the guy to make decisions. We'll see how that goes now that he has the authority.

Arbuckle would be a far better GM then Minaya is, no offense, although I get the impression from here that Mets fans are displeased with Minaya to begin with. He really understands developing talent.

Arbuckle isn't going to be taking any a.ssistant GM or scout jobs though. He resigned with clear intentions to make himself completely available with no ties considering the GM meetings starting up.

So unless Minaya is fired or resigns, I don't see Arbuckle going to the Mets organization. He is gunning for a the top tier position with a ballclub, so with no vacancy, doubtful you'd see him.
