Krod is better then Fuentes and I dont want another 37 yr. old lefty closer down the road. Even if it is a couple mil more and 5 years. Would it be soooo horrible if Krod was a closer at 32? Even if he is decent for the first two years of a four year deal the final two would most likely be agonizing to watch...K-Rod is 26, he shut down several clutch postseason games to help lead the Angels to a World Series a few years back...along with the rally monkey...and he just set the all-time record for saves in a season. As long as he doesn't get injured all of the time 14 mil in 2013 for a closer younger than fuentes is now will most likely be great market value. So if you get krod and make some more minor moves....you work backwards. Krod or Fuentes would make fine relievers and you lock up the 9th inning with them. You can just work backwards imo from there. "But, given a choice, Fuentes on a much shorter deal" -using matts figures above...its a one year differance between krod and fuentes and 2 mil per year...why sell yourself short on fuentes when you can have krod for 5 years and by that time you can have a good option from the farm to take over the closing job. That way if you are still impressed by krod you can resign him and use that option from the farm to set up krod and you have 2 closers in the 8th and 9th inning or just dump krod after 5 and use your farm option at a cheaper price. Fuentes no matter what you have to cut bait with him after 4 because he would be pretty old by then and we already see how age performs on this team.....thats just my opinion. stick i enjoy reading your posts but i have to disagree on a few of your points here
