Apparently, Mike Francesa just called 
me out on WFAN for my post this morning, while accusing Ryan Church of essentially being a liar.
He was referring to this post, from this morning, in which I link to Ryan Church’s recent quote to MLB.com, which refuted Francesa’s statement that Church hated New York, and supports Adam Rubin’s report in the Daily News.

According to a transcript, he said of me, “He’s annihilating me about Church,” which is funny.
Annihilate? That’s pretty funny. Click back, you be the judge.
Anyway, he then goes on to say of Church:
“I have no issue with Church. He has denied what I said. I’ll say this, I know the guys who have listened to Church come out and sit on the bench and listen to Church moan and groan about this team and the clubhouse and the music in the clubhouse… OK, he keeps denying it. If he needs me to prove who said it, I will. Because, I don’t care enough about the Mets to make this stuff up about them. Why would I bother? I don’t care, to make this stuff up…
“If I say something its because someone I trust told me something… If he can’t face the music that’s Church’s problem… He’s not telling the truth.”

Lastly, Francesa says, with regards to my linking to a message board report suggesting he may soon be teamed up with Kim Jones, “As far as some guy on a blog telling me about the future of this show, you wanna believe that?? Well, I’ve never heard of or met Matt Cerrone. So, the idea that he knows the future of the show is a little comical.”
I don’t know the future of the show, Mike. I never claimed to. Not that I expect you to know the difference, but I simply linked to a story that claimed to know the future.
The funny thing is, I like Francesa being on the drive-time show on WFAN. He makes for good drama.
My point this morning was that he should be teamed up with a person who is knows the Mets, so to curb the pro-Yankees, anti-Mets talk that dominates his show, which I will defend all day long by the way.

What I find funny is that when confronted with the 2 different sets of quotes directly from Ryan Church, Mike reverts back to his “sources” as being more reliable. I guess Mike’s “sources” know more about Ryan Chruch that Ryan Church does.
Perhaps its just that Ryan Church hasn’t yet realized he hates NY yet, and that Mike’s “sources” have an inside scoop on how Church is going to feel.

It’s entirely possible that both parties are right…..Mike probably did have a source that told him that Church said those things…I mean, would Church admit it if it was true? Also, knowing the clubhouse, I am not so sure I wouldn’t share these same sentiments.

hey everyone off subject but putting it out there. im try to get a citi field brick but they say they are sold out. i sent the mets an email and they got me on a waiting list if they decide to comission more bricks for the fanwalk. to make a long story short anyone who didnt get a brick yet that still wants one go to the fanwalk website and email them. the more people we get the better the chance theyll give more bricks. im REALLY want one but missed the boat cause my birthday is in october and they were sold out by then and ive been really down about it ever since. help a die hard fan out if you guys can!

Mike is an idiot. Like he has “insiders” in the Mets clubhouse. For years he has made fun of the Mets, criticized the Mets and basically disrespected the Mets. Now all of a sudden he is an expert. Don’t think so. Do I think Church may have been a little upset with the clubhouse. Possibly. I think the chemistry is wrong and the Mets need more players like Church. But to say the guy hates being in NY is another thing. For a guy that hates it, he sure played well.

Church was also being very annoyed that two Mets relievers (Sanchez and Rincon) reported late for the Saturday penultimate game of the season, which was reported by Adam Rubin of NYDN…confirmed by Eddie C just days later.
Too much stuff has been said about the team’s clubhouse environment, etc. Like I said, where there is smoke….
But it doesn’t matter, Omar wants fans to think that all he needs to do is get is a closer, do nothing else, and this team will be muy bien.
As for Eddie C, they don’t call him “See No Evil” for no reason.
IF he is that “source”, and keep in mind that he ripped into Delgado when was he was with Mike a few weeks ago… Eddie RARELY, if ever (as long as I have been listening) ever really got on the Mets too much.
That he is saying these things, presuming he is Mike’s “source”…. has a lot of credibility IMO.
