In the history of this great game you can count on one hand
Catchers over 35 who played everyday and gave ANY production at the plate and still have fingers left over.
You know Varitek and his agent are nuts if they think ANYONE is giving them more than two years.

Cordero’s definitely worth a flyer, but keep in mind the guy did not have overpowering stuff even before he got hurt.

I agree it is worth a shot and you have nothing to lose. He will not command a ton of money or years because of the surgery. Sign him to a manageable base with incentives so if it works out the Mets are happy with a good bullpen arm and he is because he will be compensated through the incentives. I have a feeling it gets done.

Oh I know, I was saying it because he hasn’t changed in 3 years. But 3 years ago he was this hot to trot superstar.

In fact he only K’d 50 more times then Carlos Delgado. For good measure he K’d 35 times less then howard.

I was saying for what he is, he isn’t being highly pursued at all from what i read.

He and Ryan Howard could also power their respective stadiums with clean, renewable energy from the rampant whiffing.

Howard, he ain’t, but for some reason, I just like the idea of the flashy, Reyes-led late-choking Mets adding a big, slow (these days) lump of Kingman. It’s so out of place, it works.
