I go to see them all the time.
Carter showing his true love for the game with this move. Would love to see him manage the Mets someday, although it is not likely. He was the last piece of the puzzle back in the mid 80’s and one of the top 5 Mets of all time.
Wow that’s practically the bigs. Good job Kid!
Hahahaha. I can tell iamatwork has never been to a Ducks game. It could be the biggest joke of a team on the planet.
I think he was being sarcastic because he will never get a big league job after what he pulled in June
(a) I have not.
(b) I was being sarcastic.
(c) He’s whined for years he wants to be a MLB manager – he’ll end up being like Tim McCarver.
YOU MEAN A HALL OF FAME COMMENTATOR ?
The Ducks were a great team!!!
Used to sit behind the bench when John Brophy was coach, Old Time Hockey, SlapShot . . . .
Oh, wrong Ducks team!
That’s about as close as he’ll get to coaching in NY after what happened in June.
Uh Oh. Jerry Manuel you’d better watch your back.
Maybe now he can change his Hall of Fame cap from the Expos???? to the Mets..,,,oh I mean Ducks
Interviewer: Would you like to manage someday in the majors?
Gary Carter: Certainly. I won’t mention any specific teams, but let’s just say Jerry Manuel was walking down the street, only to get attacked by a rabid raccoon, I probably didn’t have anything to do with it. I wouldn’t have anything to do with the horse’s head in his bed either.
LOL!!
His Fullerton, CA team won their Indy League championship. Not sure the LI Ducks are a step up for The Kid. Seems like just a 3000 step eastward, but what the heck. Good for him. HOF player managing in every podunk league around. You know he certainly loves the game. Mets fans may criticize him for this or that, but he’s certainly earned a right to have a baseball ego and higher ambitions. Bunch of lousy managers have been handed endless big league skipper jobs as soon as they retired without having to ride a single bus in the minors or indy leagues and work their way up the managerial ladders.
I have said all along we need to be patient on Jason Vargas. He was rushed to the MLB did ok and then never recovered. I think it is very possible that he emerges as a #5 this season and allows Niese to get some more time in.
As for Murphy, put him a catcher. LOL.
Seriously, he should be given the 2nd base job to lose with a guy like Grudzy and the untility man and back up. I think Muprhy could learn a lot from a guy like him.
Whoops wrong post.
If only Canseco would make a comeback..
Now only a taxi cab ride away should the call come!. Duaner, call a cab!
DAMN IT !! WE HAD HIM FOR THE TAKING.
