Carter showing his true love for the game with this move. Would love to see him manage the Mets someday, although it is not likely. He was the last piece of the puzzle back in the mid 80’s and one of the top 5 Mets of all time.

I have said all along we need to be patient on Jason Vargas. He was rushed to the MLB did ok and then never recovered. I think it is very possible that he emerges as a #5 this season and allows Niese to get some more time in.

As for Murphy, put him a catcher. LOL.
Seriously, he should be given the 2nd base job to lose with a guy like Grudzy and the untility man and back up. I think Muprhy could learn a lot from a guy like him.

His Fullerton, CA team won their Indy League championship. Not sure the LI Ducks are a step up for The Kid. Seems like just a 3000 step eastward, but what the heck. Good for him. HOF player managing in every podunk league around. You know he certainly loves the game. Mets fans may criticize him for this or that, but he's certainly earned a right to have a baseball ego and higher ambitions. Bunch of lousy managers have been handed endless big league skipper jobs as soon as they retired without having to ride a single bus in the minors or indy leagues and work their way up the managerial ladders.
