I dont think 15 million range is really a pretty big offer. I’m pretty sure thats what most people are expecting him to get. But I don’t think money is going to be the issue with getting Lowe it seems like we’re low on his priority list, just from what I’ve read. Although to be completely honest I may be confusing him with someone else but I’m pretty certain he wants to go back to Boston and Boston wants him back.

I agree but that doesn’t mean every athlete agrees. Just for example A-rod took the money to go to a pretty mediocre Ranger team despite having offers from better teams.

I’m pretty sure people said the exact same thing about us and Santana last season. How we’d be far and away favorites to make it to the world series by just adding Santana. And that didnt exactly happen. One free agent/big name is almost never going to make/break a team. Unless that player is like Albert Pujols or something.

Sorry, but first look at what Wells and CC each did by age 27 before making such a ridiculous comparison. It is a completely irrelevant comparison.

And saying CC is “bound for” physical troubles, when he is 27 and has a fine record of health, is really silly.

CC’s numbers have gradually improved across the board his entire career (IP, WHIP, K, BB, ERA) and when he may indeed eventually need to lose weight, right now he is 27, not 35.

Of course Johan is in better shape, but that really has zero relevance to CC. Listen to WrightStuff, he is Wright.

That is total speculation that CC will get hurt in the future. And i wasnt saying that Sabathia is better than Santana because i would rather have him over CC too but you were making it sound like he is garbage and he will get hurt because of his weight. There isnt a pitcher on the FA market that comes close to CC. Peavy would be second if he was a FA but he is available only in a trade. The rest of the starters are either injury prone or too old!! I would pay for CC way before handing out fat contracts to these other overrated starters on the market. And please no Pedro as he is DONE. Getting CC would push Pelfrey and Maine down a notch where they belong.

It seems like its going to be hard to grab Lowe because the Yanks made a pretty big offer to him. The details haven’t come out yet, but I hope it isn’t in the $15M per year range.

As in, shelling out the largest contract ever for a starting pitcher in the history of baseball to a guy who cannot even compete with Johan’s physical stature and is bound for the repercussions in the coming future.
