TRS, we seem to think alike for the most part (well, at least as it pertains to putting together the team for 2009!)

Now just have to get Omar to bring us in on a consulting basis... Of course, he can get it all for free right here.

I think we are advocating balance, reason and ST needs as opposed to fantasy BB (spend like the Yankees! Get all the big names on LT contracts!)

I'm more interested in plugging actual needs, not 'sexy" names. It did work for the Phils last year!

Now, just have to see what Omar thinks...

Let him have his big splash FA signing of a closer. Then do the rest our way.

He's being traded for a White Sox player? Other than that who knows. He was injured a few weeks ago.

Not to sidetrack too much but does anyone know what's going on with Murphy? He hasn't played in a week.

And not only that, it would leave you plenty of room to get Krod and then a setup man. Then trade a few parts to upgrade other area.

Citigroup is not going bankrupt any time soon. Believe me. I work in the industry, and while they're struggling right now, they're in better shape than a lot of other banks out there.

Yes a rotation of
Santana, Pelfrey, Vasquez, Johnson, Maine would be more than good enough. Then you would still have Vargas and Niese as potential backups.
That only cost you around 15 million for the 2 of them and they would both be on short-term contracts.

I would love to bring in Johnson. Especially since he's only a Type B. Obviously not as the only starter we add but as a #5 with huge upside.
