Haha, good point. Yes, being that Murphy matched his minor league numbers in the majors, and that this is the level he is still learning, while Delgado has been facing major league pitching for 20 yrs and has a little notebook on everyone, I think it is definitely worth noting. A lot of people consider a minor league career to match in the majors if the player continues to develop — so the question would only be if Murph is going to be the type of player that can one day match those guys. The more I think about your comparisons the more I think some people just like to type angry contradictions. Far from useless information.

Yes, to all the geniuses, I wrote it was merely worth noting. I was not making a direct comparison, merely one based on his stats, which at his age and level of development is often used to gauge his future ability.

One of you even went so far as to say his ML stats should not be used to compare and in the very next paragraph explained why his HR per AB were low relative to a major leaguer. Relative to where he was playing and his age they were fine. But you knew that already! You are smart!

I will believe that when I see it. With that Zito and Rowand contracts hanging around I just don’t see it.
