With the Yankees incredible revenue sources and their willingness to divert funds from their Cayman Islands bank accounts to offer overwhelming contracts in an effort to buy a WS no contract becomes an albatross to them.

In the off-season the playing fields are not level. Insanity to one club is a mere inconvenience to another club.

the problem isnt that lowe wants a 6 or 7 year deal bc he’s not getting that…hell get a 4 or 5…THE PROBLEM however is that the redsox and yankees are bidding for burnett and the loser will go and get lowe most likely…which leaves us sitting here with ollie again at 4 years and 48 million…which i dont know if i like

whats your basis for this statement ab lowe…the guy always stays healthy and always pitches well…i just don’t get it…OHH and he also threw to a 1.26 ERA in his last 10 games this year…but we’d be a fool to get this guy…i’m sure youd rather get aj burnett who is an injury waiting to happen and isnt much better than lowe if at all

Pitchers are crazy. Hopefully Omar realizes this and stops drafting future middle relievers and starts going after high ceiling pitching talent early in drafts. 7 years for a 35 year old? When Jon Garland for 4 years 10-12 million per seems like a bargain you know the market is out of control.

can we just sign Carl Pavano already and get this over with? ad while we are at it, Turk Wendel is working out in Florida, and hoping to make a come back…

We should in all honesty go for Burnett, he’s still young, and is filthy, and it only helps that he’ll be in the NL again, where most teams are rookie heavy in the line-up and free swingers. Plus don;t you think he would make Howard look just as silly as Perez did?

The man once overplayed his hand. And even with that A-Rod signed for more money than he had been making and more money than anybody else in the sport and NOBODY else was negotiating. Yeah, Boras really screwed up.
