No power? Have you looked his A ball stats from that year? I believe he put up a higher OPS than the one you just posted for Uggla, and had 21 homers and 32 doubles.

Wow people get really worked up over a A catcher who was 21 at the time hitting something around .250 in A ball. WOW. Over-reaction. Yes he had a better year last year then Schneider. But it wasn't like he was 50 times better. And Schneider was part of a deal that was a salary dump with a Outfielder we wanted and he filled a need position. Wow.

Now if he had been Uggla. When in his Rule 5 season he hit .282 27HR and 90 RBI with a .818 OPS. Then i would get up in arms.

A .250 hitting catcher with no power. Call me when he's an impact player.

I don't know is he's eligible but the Phillies have a sick 1B prospect playing for there high A or maybe AA now called Matt Rizzotti. He something like 6'5" 230 and hes a lefty, lefty who can pay OF as well. Pick him up and groom him to replace Delgado in a couple years.

Based on my research so far, Jesus Flores is the best catcher ever picked up by Rule 5...

My point is to say "Omar didn't do much" implies there was something that he easily should've done and failed to do. When trades or FA signings don't get done it's easy to just say he blew it, but in reality I'm sure he tried to make changes and upgrade but couldn't/wouldn't meet the unrealistic demands of other teams.

Omar was given a gift in Wright and Reyes= 2 young, cheap superstars. He has also built a nice core for the future by locking those guys up and adding Beltran and Johan. I just don't see where they're going to take us because Omar has proven over the last few years that he is horrible at the fringe moves that fill out the roster. Julio Franco, Marlon Anderson, Castillo, Alou. 3 years for Schoeneweis? Really?

Omar can make some of the big moves, but he can't put together a complete roster.
