View: The All-Time Fan Confidence Rating

The MetsBlog.com Confidence Rating has been added back to the left sidebar.  The poll for this rating will appear every Monday and Friday through the rest of the off season.

In addition, I completed the All-Time Rating, which dates back to January 2004, which means MetsBlog.com will soon be five years old, which is crazy to me.

Here’s the full graphic, which you can click for a larger version:

+ the value of the team has jumped 47% in 6 years..

look like some free agents should be coming the mets way. looks like pedro and santana both caused huge jumps in enthusiasm

Other than maybe Krod do you really think that will translate to a spending spree this offseason. I sure hope so but Im always skeptical when it comes to this front office.

        • zen says:

the team has a lot of holes in expensive areas. not sure what they’ll do. if i had to guess i think they’ll make one splash (k-rod) then cut around the corners with the two starting spots, middle relief, and left-field.

I’ve been coming here since I discovered it in May ‘05. It’s the absolute best, most complete site for Mets information around, and it saves me from having to go to dozens of sites and sift through the nonsense. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty damn close, and as an out of market fan it’s been my Mets lifeline. I only wish it had been around when I was in college and was surrounded on all sides by everything Red Sox.

Thanks, and here’s to the next 5, Matt (& crew)!

Congrats Matt!!! Here’s to another 5 at the very least! As for the confidence, I don’t see how we as a fan base can have much confidence in Omar. He is waiting for K-Rod’s medical report while I’m sure other GM’s are working phones and making offers. Our team’s fortune won’t change until this guy is gone.

  4. I wish I could say that I’ve been here the whole time, but I have not. I’m relatively new to the site (about a year and a half, I’d say), but congratulations to you Matthew, on almost 5 years of excellent MetsBlogging. You do a great job, and you should know that you and your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.

Every time I try to vote in any polls on the blog, it says, “you ahve alreday voted in this poll” and gives a number like 237. Which would be fine but I did not vote! It ain’t the end of the world but I’d like to not be disinfranchised!
Does this happen to anyone other than me?
    Can I fix it?

I’ve been here since the summer of ‘04, thru at least 3-4 site changes, several guest bloggers, 3 Met managers, 2 GM’s, 672,892 Manny Ramirez rumors, 3 franchise changing signings, 4 different Met radio voices, a new channel, a new stadium, tremendous growth, and 5 years ending in disappointment.

Yet, through it all, Matt’s excellent insight, and reporting have been the only consistent entity, and that is what keeps me coming back. The amount of information Matt has been able to provide was always excellent, and now even more so, with the partnership with SNY. We fans are lucky to have such a resource to keep us warm in the long, cold winter.

Congrats on the past 5 years, and here’s hoping for an equally successful next 5.

I discovered this site in late 2006 from a Mets fan teacher I had while in high school…been coming here ever since. Keep up the great work Matt & crew!

Also, despite two last month collapses, amazing to see the confidence was never as low as it was in 2004…awful, awful year that was.

  8. C Dubb says:

I happened upon this site when the Mets were in hot pursuit of Kaz Matsui (winter ‘03-’04). Metsblog sure has come a long way since then; I wish I could say the same for the Mets!

  9. bigvito22 says:

I love looking at the 04 offseason….the spike when Pedro signs, then a steep drop right after as people think “eh, we still have a bad lineup” and then it shoots up again when Beltran signed in January

  10. gipper82475 says:

The confidence rating looks better than the stock market.

Speaking of which, we better start looking at new names for CitiField, as that previously 3-figure stock is now trading at under $5 a share and looks like the company is headed for the rocks.

  11. MetsFan4Decades says:

As a long time Met fan, I love this site.
Congrats on the anniversary and keep up the great work, Matt!
