Long Island Business News recently caught up with Darryl Strawberry at a local charity event.

When asked if he is spending a lot of time with charities, Strawberry said:

“Yes. This is a very important one, but we’re also donating to organizations that focus on kids with cancer. And my foundation, the Darryl Strawberry Foundation, is also focused on autism awareness.”

daryl is ver involved in a lot of charity work. most of it focusing on kids. i used to teach at a special ed preschool on long island, and daryl stopped by one day about a year ago. he was in the area, making some stops at special ed schools. his foundation does a lot of work with kids with autism. anyway, he was a super nice guy. i brought in some daryl rookie cards, and he autographed em for me. got a few pictures of me and him too. good guy though… does good work.
