GET ME BRYNES!.....

I'm sorry i know myself that when people use caps it gets your attention, but in the long run just makes me look stupid and completly inadequate as someone who posts on this blog. Therefore, I apologize in my failed attempt to voice my opinion on how strong I feel about the Mets' situation on Left Feild and how I believe Byrnes can solve that problem.

Besides WAY too risky for him to be offered arbitration. You know he would take it and you never get a pay decrease in arbitration.

If Griffey is offered arby, he's not worth the two draft picks lost.

Ugh.

That's really all I have to say. If we really go into next season with Niese as our number best option at number 5 we're in big trouble. If nothing else Imagine if anyone else on the staff gets hurt. If thats his plan then I hope they plan on dropping large amounts of money into something else, like 1b preferably. Otherwise I can't see the point of it.

well, I think there is a fair amount of smoke blowing going on.

But, keep in mind that the 5th starter is one place teams can try to save money. And we know the Mets do have a budget!

I can support looking to break in a young guy as the #5. Really, it is the only way you will ever sustain a solid, cost effective rotation. basically what happened with Pelfrey last year.

Just don't expect it to neccesarily be Neise. Right now, Vargas might be a better option (based on stuff and experience) if the fall ball results were legit.

So I guess don't be too surprised to see a competition in ST for the #5, but if so, hopefully Omar brings in some more contestants.
'
And most importantly, nails down a solid, dependable #4 guy. If you as-sume Maine to be ready and healthy (and by now, I'm sure the Mets are well informed on how he looks!), adding another solid rotation guy gives you a solid 1-4, so you can finagle with the #5 a bit.

And, of course, spend the money saved on Teix or something else good!

Now, whos the guy to add? Sheets I love, but with him you better get an established #5. Is Vazquez good enough? Wolf? Yuck on Garland. of course CC is!

He made some unbelievable plays after the concussion. Just the last week alone he made some game saving plays.
