He had a poor showing in the majors but he's all of 23, and even with his "poor" showing he was still above league average for a catcher. And he raked in AAA this year and most projections project him to be an insane offensive catcher, and the Red Sox are big on stats so those projections would mean something to them. There's really no reason for them to prefer to trade a B prospect for a player like Schneider than trade an A one for a player like ten years younger, cheaper and much better. I mean we don't even want Schneider and we can't afford much better or younger, why would a team that can want him. But what would make them think that? Though, I think one of the major problems that the Mets had last year was lack of offense from role players like Schneider and Castillo. It'll be tough to upgrade their catchers without giving up too much. I feel that Omar's priority is with pitching, where he'll end up trading guys like Heilman, which leaves very little talent to trade for catchers. I agree. They have 10,000 pitching prospects plus an all ready relatively young and stable rotation there's really no reason for them not to part with one of them to get a high upside possible future elite catcher.
