Easley was a disaster last year. It just go overshadowed by how much worse Argenis was at second.

There are a zillion other options, equal or better.

I don't know why they wouldn't offer to every RP though, never know who's going to come through next year.

Besides, an arbitration hearing for any reliever on the Mets last year is likely to result in the reliever having to offer the Mets money rather than vice versa.

Sign KRod and Hoffmann for setup. The Padres won't offer arby to Hoffmann so he wont cost us any picks. A two year deal for Hoffmann would suffice.

In all likelyhood, the Royals will not offer Grudsy arby, so signing him will cost us nothing. A 2 year deal would be a good move.

Our defense wasn't really fine. Our park helped a lot of our pitchers but our defense, more so infield than outfield was so so. And Endy saves enough runs on defense that he ends up not even costing you runs overall. Defense and offense really shouldn't be looked at as two different things. It should be looked at as a net difference. If a guy is worth 50 runs on offense, I'm just making up arbitrary numbers than it shouldn't matter that he's worth -10 or something on defense. And vica-versa.

Easley slugged under .400 last year, his career mark is .404. If thats the best pop we can find for our bench then we're in major trouble. If you want pop then let easley go and bring in a bench outfielder or corner infielder.

I was putting a list together of 2B/SS type guys. Easley provides more pop than Grudzy. We have zero power on the bench. Our biggest threat is Cancel. Gimme a break.

You need a guy like Matt Stairs that can hit a 3-run homer. I'm not saying he is the best player in the league or that he should start, but I think he would be cost-effective as a backup. Grudzy is a starter and shouldn't be mentioned in this category either. Easley is a bench player that was forced into a starting role because of injuries.
