Great video guys. I’m really excited, especially to hear the old apple will be on display somewhere in the stadium.

I’m still hoping there are more Mets history elements added, so far all we have to go on is Jackie Robinson and Brooklyn Dodger history. The out of town scoreboard looked like it even had infield lights to show what runners are on, pretty impressive.

By the way, was that former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton that Ted almost knocked out with his camera in the rotunda?

  2. ATI says:

Very cool guys. And finally the public gets what it wants…..Ted Berg

  3. teledingo says:

Ted (or Matt) refers to the new place as Shea Stadium – sniff, sniff. If only it were so. I still call it the “New Shea” in my mind….

(it happens while decribing the winds early in the clip, saying that lefties might like be enticed to come to “Shea Stadium.”)

same here teledingo – i still feel that if citi deal falls through they should call the place gil hodges stadium at shea staium

    • Ted Berg says:

Haha yeah, I just noticed I did that. Force of habit, I guess. It’ll be about 20 years before I stop making that mistake, so look out for it on future web videos.

  8. Kellman says:

What made Ted say “Oh yeah” around 1:33?

  9. Ellen says:

That upper deck indeed is pretty steep – I started to get the shakes when Ted was recording up there – yikes!!!

  10. RikkDoc says:

Great video Matt and Ted. Do you have any insight into the train situation for Citi Field? There has long since been talk of rerouting the 7 so it gets, like, in the rotunda or something. Any inside info?

    • kowalski69 says:

The 7 leaves you about 300 feet from Citi Field as is. The real question is if they’ll Rename the station “Willets Point – Citi Field” — or change the signs on the Grand Central.

and i’ll still call it Shea for a long time.

  11. BaysideBillyD says:

Is there really a wiffle ball field there?!?!?!?
    Giddy Up!

  12. mr_met says:

  13. BaysideBillyD says:

Maybe it’s me, but I think Berg looks like Abe Froman… the Sausage KING of Chicago.

  14. gutterkizmet says:

Resign Ollie!!!! That wind blowing out to the porch that Lefties will aim out = Mets need someone to shut down lefty bats …. thus Ollie!!!!!
