Let’s look at the record: Nelson Figueroa was sent to Triple A in mid-May. He was called up the last week of August and appeared in seven games, all in September. He allowed one run in 6-2/3 innings for a 1.35 ERA, striking out 7, walking 2. Against the teams that mattered, he pitched a 1-2-3 inning against Milwaukee on September 1 (he won that game), two scoreless innings against Milwaukee on September 2nd, a 1-2-3 inning against Philadelphia on September 7th, and a 1-2-3 inning against Florida on Friday, September 26. If he was called into September games instead of some other relievers who shall remain nameless, we would've been in the postseason. He can and has pitched long relief and short relief and can spot start, if needed. He’s currently pitching in the Dominican Winter League for Aguilas Cibaenas. Nelson’s 3-0 (3 starts) with a 2.25 ERA, 3 walks, 15 strikeouts in 20 innings. As I said, why wouldn't you want Nelson Figueroa back? Why wouldn’t you want Nelson Figueroa back?
