By Matthew Cerrone - Dec 9, 2008 2:33 pm

According to eyewitnesses, Jerry Manuel has been spotted in the lobby of the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Manuel is expected to speak with reporters today at 7 pm EDT.

if SNY wants to create compelling content, they should follow manuel around vegas for 24 hours…something tells me that would be pretty entertaining…

…ladies on the bus, gangstas on the field, gentlemen

Or you might say ‘ladies on the bus and on the field,’ as has been the case with our 2007-2008 Mets.

  2. therealsince86 says:

Don’t expect much from his interview. Mostly just a meet and great. Then he will have dinner with Krod or something.

  3. Seaver41 says:

The Reality Show of The Gangsta in Vegas is a great idea! I’d definitely watch that.

  4. Steviefan84 says:

Jerry Manuel just wants to shake the hand of the man that’s going to lock down games for the Mets without repeatedly having people up in the bullpen in the 9th inning.

The first chance the Mets get in the regular season, Manuel will probably worry that he had a nightmare he didn’t have a closer and then start sweating until he see’s K-Rod’s name on who is available out of the pen.

On another note, Dodgers met with Manny’s agent last night and they still are looking for a longterm contract of 6 years and are not going to settle for a 2 year contract like what the Dodgers offered.
LOL. Manny until he is 43.
Manny gets NO MORE than 3 years. Any team to sign him beyond 40 should be taken out and forced to attend every New York Knicks game for the next 3 years.

  6. CaseStreet says:

Didn’t know Managers make it to the meetings. What’s up with that?

  7. One Day This Team Will Kill Me says:

hey lay off the knicks, theyre on an upswing

  8. PeterDragon says:

    7pm EDT?
    aren’t we EST now?
    :)

I would love to see Jerry at the blackjack table and telling the dealer if he gets another 16 he is gonna cut him.

  10. gipper82475 says:

Somewhere in the Bellagio’s high-tech security control room, somebody with a headset is yelling, “Get the Eye in the Sky on that Gangsta and keep it on him!”

  11. Nightlife says:

Have we already done jokes speculating as to which GMs are terrible gamblers?

  12. mr.gee21 says:

TRS: The appropriate punishment is actually attenting every Knicks game for the next two years (the third year might be entertaining), plus watching repeats of the last few years.

  15. stillbelieve says:

    K ROD
better be the first of many steps to revamping this bullpen

  16. MRenz31 says:

Jerry needs to go hangout and play blackjack with CC!

  17. biomarco5 says:

    Matt,

any chance of a Castillo for J. Gullien Trade occuring?

  18. raymanjr says:

ESPN has learned that the Mets have agreed to a 3 year deal with closer Francisco Rodriguez, pending a physical, worth $37 million plus additional incentive bonuses.

  19. NYCESQ says:

    Ray Man Jr.

I just read that. Ultimately, I think it is great for the deal to be made sooner than later. From a negotiation standpoint, it was ideal for Omar to start lower than others may have been inclined to offer.

Now, he has a couple of days to work on another move. He is working fast and efficiently.

torii hunter and mike scioscia raving about k-rod.

    sounds great.

    RE: TICKET PLANS

Yesterday for those of us who had tickets plans last year, the Mets have offered limited seating for 15 game ticket plans. I’m curious if anyone has any opinions/suggestions on what they’re doing if they had ticket plans in the past. Looking at seating chart, these seats do not look great compared to all the others that I guess are being all bought up by corporations and brokers at full season and 40 game plans.
