Maybe Omar is trying to get steven register back as part of the other players holding up the deal. I'd trade Heilman and Feliciano for Street and Register anyday. He should never have let register go back to Colorado!

im sure Omar would do the trade in the future but hes waiting it out. maybe the Rockies are trying to sign a starter but if that falls through maybe Omar can deal just Heilman for Street or Heilman and someone less than Evans or Feliciano

I think if they need to include Feliciano to get Street from Colorado, which was the trade runored, go do it. We can pick up a lefty to handle Pedro's one batter max-way too inconsistent...

Were I a GM well outside of NY or another media hotbed, I'd definitely have Heilman on the radar. He may be a starter, and he has great stuff. . . . And remember, they all go to sleep at night with pictures of Brad Lidge tatooed to the insider of their eyelids -- another guy with good stuff who just needed a different hat.

Maybe Atkins could just play 2nd. then we wouldnt need him and Barmes and possibly keep Murphy the hitting machine in left. Atkins did appear in atleast 1 game at 2nd this year. not sure how many times tho...

the rockies have some very good players that Omar is probably interested as well:

Colorado has a lot of good young talent and Omar is probably trying to get someone else along with Street.

Barmes or Baker would easily start at 2nd for us. Hawpe, Atkins would start in LF. Grilli, Herges, Corpas would be great for the bullpen. Jeff Francis would make a decent 4th or 5th starter so there are some guys there we could use.

could the mets package Heilman, Feliciano, Parnell, Kunz and Murphy in a deal for Street, Atkins and Barmes. probably not Omar is probably still trying to get something of that nature...

the only way I like getting Marquis is if we flip him to the Rockies after. The cubs will already have agreed to eat a chunk of the salary, and that could mean Street + for us. The Rockies have discussed Marquis with the cubs but didnt like the asking price.

That Heilman-Marquis trade sounds like the worst trade ever.

For both teams.
