I say trade for Street... Feliciano and Heilman (add Evans if you need to since Omar backed out before, Rox might ask for more now)

Then with the money that we theoretically saved on the K-Rod deal, use it to sign Cruz....

Then if Omar wants to go crazy, see how interested Cordero is on coming to NY...

K-Rod
Street
Cruz
Parnell
Smith
Shoe
Stokes
Possibly Cordero....

Not to shabby

Slider, does Heilman qualify as a talented guy coming off a bad year? If so, one down...

Look at the Phillies as an example of how a team builds a good (great?) bullpen.

They took chances on JD Durbin (who previously was a nobody); JC Romera (who the Red Sox simply waived); and Brad Lidge (who was persona non grata in Houston because of his alleged fragile psyche and diminished skill). And they stuck it out with Ryan Madson after a few mediocre years.

Why was Rauch bad last year? Injury? Circumstances? I liked him the year before.

Omar likes to accumulate guys who are coming off bad years because he can get talented players on the cheap.

I'm not sure what the Indians' LOOGY situation is, but maybe if the Mets are unable to complete the rumored Heilman & Feliciano for Street deal, they could send Schoeneweis' one overpaid remaining year to the Indians for Betancourt's two overpaid remaining years.

By the way I love how Cot's contracts already has Francisco Rodriguez listed as a Met, it looks GOOD!

I would probably sign Cordero and Ohman and trade for Street. Then, keep a spot for Smith, and let the two remaining spots come from Sanchez, Stokes, Parnell, Kunz (who's probably not ready), and one of Show/Feliciano (trade the other).
That, my friends, is a shut down pen.

No more overpaid relievers. Trade for street and sign Cordero. Everyone else should be not be FA. What's the point in overpaying these FA relievers when rookie and arbitration level relievers can be just as crappy only cheaper.

Thats what I thought, but I read the Indians would move him in an article. Doesn't make the most sense, but I would love to have him. Maybe they don't feel he has the talent Betancourt does? That sounds unlikely....you know, that rumor makes absolutely no sense. thanks for pointing that out.

@PeckWizzle, why would the Indians move Jensen Lewis? His $393,000 salary certainly won't burden them. If they move someone upon signing Wood, my bet would be Rafael Betancourt.

No Ibanez. Church has more upside and overall game. He hits the ball hard almost every time and plays great D. After the bullpen overhaul, we need 2 starters, who should both be acquired by trade (free agent options are not worth the money). Murphy and Tatis are both offensive players who should do great in left and unless Castillo moves we're stuck with him. Schneider could move but its unlikely. Jeff Baker would be a good option for 2nd if we could work out a deal for him and street.
