I personally don't want anything to do with Pedro. I love him for what he helped this franchise become again. With that being said he's finished. Garland is not a bad pitcher. He gives you the innings and keeps you in games. But I would feel more comfortable with him being in competition with Niese for the 5th spot than I would with him manning the number 3 or 4 spot. I personally want ollie back. Even for 5 years hes the youngest free agent starter out there. And if you look at the deals that carlos silva got, or what we would pay for Garland why not spend the extra and keep ollie. I cant help but get angry when I reports that the Mets aren't willing to increase payroll, especially with Citi Field opening.

mrose:

what arguments have you made? no world series wins in 22 years for the 2nd richest team in baseball. how long does it take to draft well and develop talent.

keep it up with the ad hominem attack. typical of your kind.

kisitcs

personally im hoping Perez accepts arbitration and the mets have him for just 1 more year. add Pedro or Penny to mix and thats a decent rotation. not ideal but with a very good bullpen and an improved bullpen it should be fine...

Oleo,

I agree with you. If Mets can't sign Sheets, I'd def go with Penny, Pedro route. Solid SP will always come around via trades or FA signing. So wasting money on Garlnad or Wolf would be a bad idea

Do they realize Derek Lowe is 35, has started 255 games in his career and has a record of 126-107. How is that worth 17 million per?

kistics

what happens when Lowe goes to Boston, Sheets goes to let's say the Yankees and Burnett goes to the Braves.

do the mets overpay for a mediocre starter like Garland or Wolf or do they make smart decisions and sign guys like Penny, Pedro, Pettitte, Mulder etc on a 1 year deal
