Now he says you can’t question his farm system because Santana fell into his lap and they used Heilman and Carp (two guys already here when he took over in 2005) to get Putz?

To me, that’s a pretty solid rotation. But Burnett is to pricey after coming off his best season ever. So, i’d settle for Lowe. And some of you have ragged on Garland, he’s not much different then Perez, but he puts up better numbers except for ERA. And personally, perez needs to go. He’s had his time in NY and he’s shown the MLB that he can still somewhat pitch. Not like his glory season with Pitts., but he can still pitch. He needs to go, i’ll take Wolf or Garland as a 4th or 5th starter.

If anything, the trade would be good for the mets. They get a better starter than Perez. They dump Scotty S. All they would need to do after that is sign one more SP(Lowe/Wolf/Garland/Sheets), and shoot Feliciano, then the mets will have a solid starting rotation and a dependable bullpen.

The only thing that remains is what to do about Castillo?

Since it appears that Mets games will essentially be 7-inning games, we need to address the rotation. And i know that many are against it, but overpay for Lowe or Burnett and get one of them in here. If that fails, and it appears it will, bring Ollie back. I’d like to have Garland, too, but not to replace Perez, because he’s not better than Perez, i.e. not an upgrade.

if the mets carry 7 relievers I would imagine itll look something like this.
